Price of individual lessons

Request of help

A good american friend of a friend of me has show up in Madrid for two weeks. I am the president of one of the largest clubs in Madrid and my friend asks me for arranging private lessons with a top maître here so I did so. I will invite him for the club´s inscription and monthly fee but I have to pay the maître for the lessons. He has a contract for the lessons he gives to the club´s members but I have no idea of what is a reasonable price in USA and I don´t want to be unpolite with the friend of my friend.

Does a 20 € price for a 30 min lesson of a top maître d´armes sound reasonable for you?.

Thanks in advance.

Fer

That sounds reasonable.

20 Euros/30 minutes does not sound unreasonable.

I've seen different prices here in the USA, but most lesson blocks seem to be 15-30 minutes. The fee for lessons seem to hover between $0.50 and $1.00 per minute. That is, I've seen as low as $15 for a 30 minute lesson and as high as $20 for a 20 minute lesson.

I would say that that's a very fair price.

Top coaches tend to be significantly higher than the prices quoted here (though that is in large part due to their location: NYC)

My lessons are $20 for a 20 minute lesson, but that's about to go up.

Sounds like a very reasonable price.

Based on what you said on US lesson fees, the 20 euros would end up almost the same anyway. And it is a top coach after all so I think it's a fair price. Even if it wasn't, I think it would be best to have a foreigner pay the usual amount. It would be more unpolite to the maître d´armes if someone pays a smaller amount just because he's a foreigner.
