| Speaking of duels, I recall hearing that back in the "bad old days", one fencer thought the ref was favoring his opponent and the two fencers ended up going out into the parking lot for a real duel. Obviously, this back in the early 1900's when people still did that sort of thing. I seem to recall as well that one of the people involved was Italian, and the other was French but I'm not sure. Any help from the history buffs among us?
Also a while back I posted on the water cooler about a story I heard involving on of the Santellis and a real duel he got into, although it wasn't with another fencer, this also occurred in the said "bad old days". I believe it was called, " A story of real duelling". It was posted right after the NAC in Sandy, Utah. You might want to look at it too, if you're interested in that kind of thing.
