| "Pritt" glue? I recently bought a tube of glue with the brand name of "Pritt". Unfortunately all the instructions are in languages I am illiterate in. It comes in a tube that reminds me of regular rubber cement. Could somebody tell me what the cure time is for this glue?
Thanks!

| Cure time? What's cure time?
Why don't you copy what's written on it - the German or French Version. Or Greek or Dutch or Latin or Hungarian or Spanish - all these languages represented here

| I know Pritt, and I think its manufactured by Henkel, a German company. Not quite sure, but I can help you out with German any time.

| It is manufactures by Henkel, confirmed fact.
Maybe this helps to find out the cure time once you use it?

| I think someone's busy glueing...or have just given up on us nutcases!
Come on, tell us what language it is -- the suspense is killing us!

| Try babelfish. It helps if you know what language you're dealing with, but you can just use trial and error until the translated result resembles a language that you are literate in.
Of course, this won't help if is written in Chinese or some other language that's impossible to type from your keyboard.
Is there anything written on the bottle that might a web site? If so, try that; there may be an English version on the site with info on the glue.

| Actually they have had the unmitigated gaul to actually make me work at work this week, and last night was my fencing class. I just haven't had time to sit down and copy the instructions over. I'll try to get them up this evening. I think they are in German, French, and Swedish but I'm not sure. I was hoping when I first posted that somebody would just have a tube of the stuff handy and could just tell me. Thanks!

Anyway, I've never seen the glue, but as I said I'll be happy to help out if I can.

| Of course, that Swedish could look like Dutch too.....so in case it's Dutch - don't hesitate to ask.
(ZZ: hehe, know what I mean?)

Swedish and dutch are not at all similar. I could probably get the gist of dutch (written is a lot easier than spoken ) -- but only because it's similar to german.

| I'm going out on a limb here, but I bet that "5 minutes" in French, "5 minuten" in Dutch and "5 min." in German all translate roughly to something like "5 minutes". |

| throw it away... I think I got a tube of the same stuff you are talking about from one of the more popular equipment vendors. I used it to try and rewire a foil. I think that the instructions may translate to something along the lines of "Not intended to be used for fencing equipment". 2nd attempt was super glue, and the Pritt wound up in the trash. It might be good for something, but definitely not for rewiring a blade.
A buddy of mine purchased a pre-wired blade from the same place I got the glue. It looked as if they tried using it too. The wire started coming out after 1 bout.

Slim | I have had the opposite experience, and have been very pleased with the Pritt. I can find nothing about fencing in the German instructions [I guess you were joking], but it does very clearly say that it can be used with metal "Klebt kraftvoll und schnell... auch in Verbindung mit Metall." |

| I was indeed joking . Perhaps it was operator error on my part, but I found it interesting that the vendor seemed to have the same problem with what looked to be the same stuff. Crazy glue, for me, has been foolproof but requires a solvent to remove. The Pritt seemed to stay very flexible and was very easy to remove without chemicals. Actually, too easy! |
