After the first stage there are 3 US cyclists in the top 5, 4 in the top 10 and 6 in the top 20! Woohoo! Probably won't hold, but a good start nonetheless!!!

Lance finished a strong second (two seconds actually) behind the 1st place finisher fellow American David Zabriskie (first Tour) who finished at a blistering 54.676 kph (33.98 mph) pace, the second fastest average time trial in the Tour history.

The next overall contender, Alex Vinokourov, finished with a 53 second deficit. Jan Ullrich, another GC, finished 68 seconds behind Lance after injuring his neck during a training ride.

I find it amazing what Lance has been reaching the past years after his illness. That guy has his mind set!

Rather than checking Armstrong for drugs, they ought to be checking him for nanotechnology and robotic implants. Obviously he is not completely human...
