| Your Favorite Fencing Stars? Hi Everyone ...
We've just begun a new section in FencingPhotos.com, which is an area featuring galleries of fencings stars and elite athletes. Currently only Soren Thompson is in there, but we plan to add many, many more from around the world as quickly as we can. Images will be available in prints, products, and digital formats, and we plan to add trading cards later in the summer.
Here's what I need: I'm soliciting recommendations for the fencer(s) you'd like to see in these galleries. I know the obvious ones, such as Gruchala, Jeannet, Granbassi, etc. But I would like to hear from you so I get a sense of who are really the favorites as well as ones I haven't thought of ... athletes, coaches, anyone you'd like in the fencing world.
I also would like to know if you want action, personality, glamour shots, or other images ...
Thanks to all, and fire away!

I'll have to agree with ZZ... I also like the blue masked/ knickered Italian... (too lazy to think of his name)...he always makes me laugh how passionate he gets with his fencing... a joy to watch... along with the rest of his team mates... oh... and the whole fench fencing team... oh... were we discussing fencing skill???
Edit... I'm okay... I just checked the topic it was favorite fencing stars.

| I just feel the need to point this out, since I've seen it so many times over the past week or so- there's no P in "Tiomkin", people.

| I agree with Aeric that Pavel Kolobkov should be a part of the collection. I think he is the king of epee.

| One more vote for Kolobkov and Mackay. Moreover, I believe that Pozdniakov's dominance on the sabre scene over the years should grant him a spot in the gallery as well. |

| I don't know how feasible that would be, but I'd love to see some pictures of "lesser known" fencers. Perhaps some of the Cuban team, because I just love the way these guys move and fence, some up and coming fencers from China, Japan, Africa, South America...
That would also be a nice way to show how much fencing has become a global sport in the last decade.

| Gianna Hablützel-Bürki.
I have not had the honour of fencing her but I once saw her take a lesson. Wow, can she flick?! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Four very fast flicks to her Maitres wrist, like a bracelet. I was impressed.

| Thanks for all the input ... keep it coming. We'll start a database of who you want to see and begin filling in the photos with people we have and those we'll be watching for. Our next big shoot will be in Leipzig for the world championships this fall. |
