| I was there for the draw only, Gago Demirchian was there as team coach. We won the tirage so we were seeded 5th and fenced Canada first. After Canada, I think it was the Ukraine (I am pulling the tableau from my memory of glancing at it). After upsetting the Ukraine, we would have fenced France (loss) and Poland (loss). I know this is not much detail, and I certainly wish that I had been there!! |

Japan upset Russia, and we beat Japan.
Then lost to France, and Poland.

USFA almost never posts such details...

I am very curious who fenced for both teams in USA versus Canada....
Canadians had impressive results in individual event the day before....

| Canada's team on the day was Tikhomirov, Bakos, Bajgoric and St-Hillaire. I believe in the match vs USA Tigran was the one backing up. If I'm not mistakenn, he said that Igor was the one to make a couple of mistakes in the last bout, which cost Canada the match. If I'm wrong - my apologies to Igor. He's a true inspiration to us all. |

| I saw Igor fencing against Fabrice Jeannet in the Paris world cup this year. He definitely gave him a run for his money and actually came pretty close to winning the bout.
I also fenced him a couple of times in NACs (only pool bouts, unfortunately) and I must say he definitely knows his stuff. It's always a pleasure to watch him or fence him.

| Yeah, he's an awesome guy. He had just opened up his own separate club in Toronto and runs an online equipment retail business too. |

| Just a plug for Ben, who, not only is so young, but who has really only been on the intl senior circuit for a short time. I believe he made something like half or more of the team points in the loss to France in Bogota. Watch this spot: Ben's a 2008 hopeful. He has mutiple speeds, super fast attacks, and attitude that works for him (or he's harnessed it...).
Let's also acknowledge K. Udvarhelyi's work - a pro epee coach who knows intl epee, and develops a powerful two way game in his fencers.
