| Diet soda or not? In addition to the previous soda (pop/coke) posts, here's an additional one

| I normally don't drink soda at all. But some diet sodas are ok and some are hideous. Don't even offer me a diet coke, but diet dr. pepper is ok.
therefore, the poll is flawed. |

| I don't like diet sodas at all, I can't stand the after-taste.

| I switched to diet b/c of the huge amount of sugar in regular soda, and after a few months, I much prefer the taste of diet to regular. Guess it's just whatever you're used to.
Oh, and for those who don't like the aspartame "diet aftertaste", try diet coke w/ splenda, it's got like a blue trim to the bottle and tastes very close to the original.

| Ugh! Diet anything is nasty stuff. Nasty. And hey, it's not like I'm in dire need of calorie reduction or anything.
I did switch from Coke to Shasta many years ago, because it had less acid, less sugar ( OK, corn syrup ) and less caffeine that any other cola on the market. My big concession to "healthy".
I understand that the best-tasting cola is Coke bottled in Mexico, where, not having to deal with the consequences of stupid US agricultural protectionism, they still use sugar instead of corn syrup... |

| For those of us in the 40+ years (okay, okay, 50+ years) age group, the 100 calories and more NOT consumed by switching to diet cola is well worth it. Even before that: there are a LOT of empty calories in sugared soft drinks.

| Diet soda just takes sugar and replaces it with artificial sugar. The stuff you put in your body is, in my opinion, nowhere near worth the lack of calories.
Plus, it tastes horrible. |

| Yeah. You all think you're being healthy until you grow a third nipple. Then you'll wish you were you just fat. |

| Diet pop contains aspartame, which eventually becomes formaldehyde in your body. A very unhealthy situation, I should think. I don't even drink regular pop.

| Psh... You can't get rid of me that easily. I just pop back up whenever I feel like it. (or it could be just a summer thing...) *shrugs* I felt like coming back.

| I rarely drink soda. When I do, I enjoy them.
Unless I get a diet soda by mistake, in which case I am thoroughly displeased. Diet sodas are narsty.
I also hate it when they slip you a "New Coke" instead of a "Classic Coke" -- I didn't know they even made New Coke any more, but every now and then there's a McDonald's or something that uses it. Yuck, yuck, yuck. That stuff tastes like Tab.
