more solid foundation to reduce "wear" on your forefoot muscles.

| I also checked out the LP shoe. The rubber seemed very grippy; part of the marketing literature is that they're meant to be useful not only on grounded strips, but also on the dusty wooden floors that most of us practice on. Great idea!
The heels seemed nice, rounded, and well cushioned. Only time will tell whether the upper can stand up to the abuse of repeated lunging on metallic strips.
When they come available (end of July), I'll be purchasing a pair. This is good timing -- the Asyms that I have are wearing out. At the $100 price point, the LP shoe is cheaper than both the D'Artagnan and the new Adistar, so if they are more durable than either Adidas option, they'll be a good buy.
I'll report back after a few weeks of practice.

| I fenced with the New "Blades" as they are called, on both the aluminum and copper strips. To say the least they were exquisite. My personally favorite part is the "stability bar" on the outside of the shoes especially since I tend to occasionally roll my back foot when I fence in my old Dart's. I bought a pair, and there is little chance I will be buying a different type of shoe for quite some time due to the seeming durability, and the all around awesome design that I plan to buy again if need be. I strongly recommend that everyone buys a pair when they come out. I have yet to fence with them on a gym floor but will report back when I get the chance to.

| Sounds extremely promising. My budget won't allow an immediate purchase, but if I have to hold off a few months, there will be some room for durability testing. |

I've been fencing using a couple models of Hi-Tec "squash" shoes for several years and prefer them to everything else I've tried, including my Adidas Stabil 5s (which are just a little too grippy).
The Hi-Tec "squash" shoes typically can be found online for between $45 and $70, so you have to wonder if the new Hi-Tec "fencing" shoe is really worth the $30-$55 price difference or if you're really just paying for the "fencing" marketing.
Some of the older Hi-Tec models are getting harder to find, but there's still stock out there. |

I imagine that's why it both costs more than their non-fencing shoe, but costs less than a designed-from-scratch fencing shoe. |

| I believe that Ben Paul and a few of those from Hi-Tec sat down and designed it from scratch. It has alot of added protection on the inside of the shoes so that if you roll your foot it doesnt mess up the stitching or the shoe it self. It also has an added bar for stability, geniously called the "Stability Bar" on the outside of the shoe so that your foot doesnt roll when retreating. I was lucky enough to purchase the only Pair LP sold in Sacramento which I am very happy about . I am very happy with them and again, i say that they are worth the difference in the ~40 dollars for the added features and design. Well done Ben .

| Will we be able to pre-order them on the "Leon Paul USA" website (I can't seem to find them there right now, but maybe I'm just not looking in the right place)? Will you be offering the 15% "July Discount" via the website?
Thanks! |

| There is a new update on the fencing shoes. There are some production delays that have pushed the delivery date out to September. Leon Paul USA will email interested customers with an offer of the 15% off price for the product launch. http://www.leonpaulusa.com/fencing/a..._Socks_32.html

Craig | Damn, that seems like a really nice shoe. If I wasn't sporting a new pair of Equipments, I would almost definitely have bought one. |

The shoes look nice. I might have to get a pair when they're discounted. How does the sizing run? Are they wide/narrow, etc? |

| Am I the only one to think they look like the new Adistar's?
The coloring, the 'stability bar', etc...
And lacking the few things I liked about the Adistar, like the rounded sole, the suction cups, and the TPU plate....
For half the price of the Adistar's (in the US at least) they would seem to be a bargain, especially with the Adistar's lack of durability.
I just hope that although, disappointed by their appearance to be a Adidas knockoff, that the shoes actually deliver in terms of performance. I am skeptical that the shoes will address all my complaints about previous fencing shoes...
