Array coke vs. pepsi Ok, everybody. Which is it Coke or Pepsi? I want to be remembered when I'm dead. I want books written about me. I want songs sung about me. And then, hundreds of years from now, I want episodes of my life to be played out weekly at half past nine by some great heroic actor of the age.

I will disown any of my children who prefer Pepsi. It tastes like gasoline, except worse. -

Array Diet coke with lime for me. The poll isn't exactly flawed, because there is an option for "other". I chose poorly. -

Array I read recently, an article that said results of the Pepsi Challenge always found that in a blind taste test, most people choose Pepsi, but when the test is not blind or when participants are asked what their favorite pop is, they nearly always choose Coke.
The article went on to say, that Cokes image, through its extensive marketing, has produced a lively feel good campaign, that makes you think you prefer Coke because "everyone loves Coke" - it's trademark white ribbon on the red can is distinguishable and reminisent of "good times" and "happiness."
I cant find the link to the article yet, but will. But the numbers were something along the lines of: Blind Taste Test: 78% prefer Pepsi Stated Preference (not blind): 96% prefer Coke -

A test like that normally consists of two options, A and B, and with similar products people will choose A roughly 75% of the time. They are not stating a preference for the product, but are instead choosing A for it's psychological connotations (A-list, A-grade, A-one, etc....)
