Welcome to the board!

Sorry, i don't know any fencing clubs in japan. Heck, i barely know any cities in japan.

Are you a righty or a lefty?

NCSU? As in the Wolfpack? If so, weeel hush ma mouth, roll me in cornbread and send me to the pig-picking! If not, then COMPLETELY disregard that greeting. Went to Carolina a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago (GO HEELS!!) and though I never went out for the team, half of my buddies were on it. Yookoso!

Fencing here in the land of Godzilla, geishas and Gundams can be a bit problematic. However, here's the email for the FJE-Federation Japonaise D' Escrime:
fencing@japan-sports.or.jp
Here's the website:
http://www.sportsweb.ne.jp/fje.htm
Lat but not least:
tel: 81-3-3481-2378
fax: 81-3-3481-2379

Don't know if anyone there deals with English based mails so you might want to send it in Japanese, but they should have the contact list available. I really don't know where to train there since I'm in the next prefecture (Shizuoka), but Nagoya is big as all get all so there should be more than one club. However, they might just be high school ones. But if you are really interested in fencing and that'll be your only option, just go and introduce yourself. More likely than not they'll welcome ya with open arms and deep bows!
I did and am having a blast! Hope this helps!

arrgg!?!?! i dont read japanese very well, i wish they had an english version, or even a french version.... oh well...
and yes, i belong to the wolfpack, been fencing with them for 4 years now, but havent really gone to that many tournaments...until i discovered epee, with which i won 7th place at ummmm....hmmmm.....somewhere, in maryland last spring...
oh! also won...ummm...?8th? at the "iron maiden" open in wilmington also last spring...
question: if you practice with a high school team, do you also get to go to team competitions or are you just considered a visiter?

Wilimington huh? Now that's a name from the past! I guess you could call me a founding member of Cape Fear...but it's been a looooong time. Anyway, I really don't know what I am with the club. I do get invited to go to the tourneys and outside practices so maybe I'm a guest with priveleges! I read your post about Nagoya being shut down. Have you tried inquiring about the local high schools yet? I mean Nagoya is the 4th largest city here so there bound to be at least one. Gambatte on the search!
