Washing my Mask?

I'm sorry if theres already another thread on this, but I'm slightly to lazy to find it, so oh well. I was wondering if there was a good way to clean the inside of a mask out, since I fence 5 times a week and its kinda gross inside. Any tips would be welcome.

Thanks,
The Queen

put it in the dishwasher, but don't do heated drying. You don't want to weaken the metal. Oh - and use regular dishwasher soap. I've heard of someone that put dishwashing liquid soap (like Dawn) into the machine and it was an instant foam party.

Since I don't have a dishwasher I've never tried that. I take mine to a hand car wash and use the high pressure hand sprayer to blast it clean. It works quite well.

Dishwash works great - just make sure you're not washing last nights spaghetti dishes at the same time. (what can I say, if I wasn't a redhead I'd be a natural blonde!!)

I used the dishwasher method for the first time last week - previously, I'd just hand-washed in the laundry sink (very north american, I think, separate laundry room with a tub big enough to fully submerge a mask or anything up to a smallish Shetland pony). Dishwasher worked fine, except for some reason the velcro strap on the back of the mask refused to stay closed afterwards. Don't know if it shrank, or if it was being held together by all that accumulated sweat. Anyway, I sewed it together and no harm done. If you have one, and you do ever have cause to attach and reattach that strap, then it might be best to remove it and do it by hand.

I just had the weirdest flash of Gary wearing his mask, and having a friend shoot him in the face with a high pressure hose!.
