Odd forge stamp. Can anyone help?

Hey all. I was refinishing a couple of old blades for some students and I have never seen the forge mark before. They blades had been in storage for years but were still in good shape and are nice and stiff. However I have never seen the forge mark before and I was wondering if anyone else had.

If is a stylized heater shaped shield/badge with a rather ornate letter J inside of it. The blades were bought overseas, somewhere in Europe most likely 10 or more years ago. The blades are rectangular in shape and look a bit like modern StM/Dynamo blades but have more of a taper at the forte, are a bit lighter and have a feel rather like some of the older BF's. Seem like nice blades and I was just curious for the history. Any help would be appreciated.

Would this be foil or epee?

Hmm, not sure that it really matters except in the shape of the blade, although a rectangular cross section on an epee would make it pretty easy to identify... and against the rules! They are foils however. Should have mentioned that. Any ideas on who/when/where?
