Array Singing child prodigy... Ok, I just have to share this...
Since a while back this song (RealMedia link) has been in the charts. I like it, it's very catchy and easy-listening.
The girl who sings it is called Amy Diamond.
I'm just amazed by her voice -- this kid just turned 13!!! -
Wow Dang, she is really good for someone as young as she is. Genrally I don't like young singers, but she has a good voice. Don't label me, I'm not a soup can! -

Array You are kidding right? Her singing isn't very good and the song sucks too. -

Don't make the mistake of thinking I am like you, RL. -

Array First of all, the song sucks. That's for sure. As for her voice abd the way she sings the lyrics.....sounds like some kid practicing karaoke. -

I'm just amazed by her voice -- this kid just turned 13!!! Nice voice. She's no ABBA, but still - nice voice. Looks like I've got to ask Dad if I can borrow his shortwave radio again... Pound for pound, the amoeba is the most vicious animal on earth. -

Array Her voice is pretty good...it still sounds a little childish, but it'll probably be very good when she's older. The lyrics and video kind of creeped me out, though, seeing as she's only 13 and the lyrics and vid were much, much older.
If you want to hear a real child prodigy singer, check out the girl who sang All I Want for Christmas in Love Actually. She was only 13, then, and on the dvd, the director says that they actually had to add errors into her voice because it sounded too good to be believable. "Contrariwise," continued Tweedledee, "if it was so, it might be: and if it were so, it would be: but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic." -
charlotte church is another great singer. i got a cd that she did when she was only 12. i think she has a better voice than Amy Diamond. just my opinion though. -

It would probably have been better if the director hadn't tried to make a video like every 17-30 year old woman is singing in now. -

Array Meh, you want redheaded teen girl singers? Try http://www.reneeolstead.com/
The songs are better, too. -

Array That Amy Diamond chick is far from being a professional singer. This is some producer's attempt to go way too far with the youth scene. She has some serious trouble with vocal control (which can be worked on and will come with age) and to put her out with an album and all that is way too early. There's a lot better 13 year old singers out there.
Now Renee Olstead... she's doing pretty well for herself. Plus I love the big band female singers. Listen to her voice in comparison to Amy's. She's got a lot better control. -

Array I heard her sing on "The Today Show". Egad, I thought---aren't you required to have a LITTLE life experience before you can interpret torch songs that well?
