Why spawn a new board rather than ask Craig to open a RMS forum similar to the NYC one he trialed? I don't get the purpose behind all of the dozens of fencing boards out there.

    What oiuyt said.

Just contact me and I can set that up for you. You can theme it with your own color scheme as well.

    I have to agree.

Frankly, I do not want to be checking multiple forums.

I find the overall "look" is strangely familiar...

I'm curious now, how many sections or divisions have their own discussion forums?

I set up an unofficial one (still running) for the Gulf Coast Division back in August of 2003.

Lately I have noticed the Plains Texas Division and the Ark-La-Miss Division have their own boards as does, obviously, the Rocky Mountain Section.

I think the independent board I first noticed (which gave me the idea) was for the Southeast Section, but I cannot be sure.

I have even seen discussion fora built around individual fencing clubs. My own club had one briefly, but most of our members are readers, not writers.

In the NJ Division, we have a message board, and many of the Division members are engaged (250+ total out of 1200 in the Division; 80% of the Division are Junior fencers). It also serves as our mass e-mailing mechanism. Our message board also has the facility to store our referee database, referee availability matrix for qualifiers, documents and pictures.

If Craig is able to provide all our existing functionality, I would gladly migrate our message board in order to integrate it with Fencing.net.
