Pirates Vs Ninja I'm not sure if this poll hass been done before but all fighting would take place on a ship at night between 100 ninjas and 100 pirates. Giving the Ninjas the advantage of sneaking and the pirates the advantage of cannons. Who would win? Epee Fencers do it to the hilt! -

Array In The Pirate Movie, the pirates beat the ninjas.
Yeah, I'm weird. Deal with it.

I'd say that since the pirates outnumber the ninja at LEAST 2 to 1, they'll probably win. -

Array well, if the pirates use their cannons while the ninja's are sneaking aboard the ship, they risk blowing holes in their bloody ship! The ninja's, given that they used a fighting style similar to the pirates, unconventional and effective, and that the ninja's had the advantage of stealth, while the cannon advantage of the pirates of nullified. I would bet that the ninja's would win. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

Array This may be the dumbest poll I have ever witnessed since I first logged onto this website. Therefore, I must honor it by deeply overthinking it. I go with Ninjas, and here is why.
First of all- Ninjas have training. Since about the time they are born, they are raised in a family of Ninjas, learn deep traditions and tactics passed on from generation to generation for thousands of years, so that every technique could be affected.
Pirates grew up as a ragtag bunch of misfits. Their only only training is what happens in life- Pirates were chosen by natural selection- those that survived by stealing, murdering, and robbing and knew how to work on a ship became pirates.
Second of all, there's the simple matter of conditions. Ninjas learned how to survive on what existed. They live on land, where the things are good and well. And there is food. And the food they eat is generally farm more healthy than the crap the Pirates have been eating for the last few years. They are in top physical condition- due to constant workouts and training, and are free of scurvy, gonorrhea, and headlice. Pirates in port are tired, and want only to sleep, eat and screw. And if there's going to be a coordinated attack by Ninjas, they'll have trained endlessly. They'll have studied the Pirate's Weapons. They'll know everything about the Pirates, including who they're captain is, where the weapons are, how many people are on deck at once. It won't be a blind hack and slash. It'll be coordinated. Men/ Women in disguise coming up with poison points that you won't even feel go in. They'll poison the food first. If they made an attack it wouldn't be a planned hack and slash- it would be planned. Men take out the Pirates on deck quickly and quietly, and then smoke bombs in the cabins.
And of course, there is the matter of weapons. Pirates used muskets with one shot, pistols with one shot, and cutlasses, and molatovs. There were also cannons.
Ninjas have an endless variety of poisons, bombs, blowguns, darts, shurikens, Nunchakus, swords, bostaffs, grapplinghooks, caltrops, blinding powders, and of course, powerful bows and arrows, which because of a quick reload time would be just as effective, if not more so, than the guns. (And Ninjas also managed to obtain guns as well- they had no code of honor against it.) And every Ninja would be suited with what was very best for him, not the same rusty sword. Ninjas Would come in waves, 20 soldiers destroying most of the 100 pirates, with more and more coming to replace the fallen. And of course, if you come right down it, the Ninjas would just vover the boat in incendiary arrows and explosives, and pick off the pirates that ran off the boat. -

Array At start one of the pirates 'the Wease' will see the ninja's boats from a distance. 'Sail ahoy' he said and captain Jolly he load the guns. The flag of the pirate will open and the fight will begin under Jolly Roger. Like wirlwind the ninjas try to save from the fire guns and cannons of the pirates and his leader Hando of the Yoko ryu try to confuse the pirates with smoke. Soon enough the pirates cannot fire with canons, ninja boats are near. The dark warriors climb the ship and a ferosius battle become. Dorac Bite the greater warrior of the pirates fall under the kama of a ninja warrior, Yeashu the first blade of the ninja fall with a bullet in his head from a sailor. The battle is great and then another roar of cannon! but from where? Soon enough the ship of pirates is all with flames ninja warriors and pirates killed from the cannons bullets of an unknown ship. All of them are dead.
The 'Invicible' is the winner. A British war ship arrives and punish all those scums...
end of story..................lol The purpose of tactic is to conquer the enemy with proper war movements and actions.

Array Ahh...so many misconceptions about pirates...
A pirate ship was actually a floating democracy. Captains became captain by election & if they weren't doing their jobs to the crew's liking, they were removed. They weren't necessarily misfits, & they didn't just jump onto a ship & start plundering without a clue. It takes training to swordfight (as well we should know), to run a ship, etc.
Watches were posted in order to prevent a sneak attack.
::sigh:: Movies don't do actual pirates justice. I've spent far too many years studying the history & folklore. "Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind."

Array I really should be working but...
At first you might think that the ninja are better because, if they're doing what they're trained to do, the pirates will not see them.
But, (and this is a biggie) if the pirates were being all their legends spell them out to be, they are would have somehow found out about the attack before hand and at the worst possible time the ninja would find themselves fighting two ships and 200 pirates.
"...it is my intentions to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder, and other-wise pilfer meh weasily black guts out."
Arr. Chew on that ya filthy night stalkin, pajama wearing sneak thieves.

Array I said Ninjas b/c I think that the physical training, both combat & athletic, that the ninja's have would give them an edge. I think it would be close though since I think the pirates would have a home turf advantage being on a ship and all. Fleche!! Fleche for fantasy.

I forgot to mention that the Pirates WOULD have the advantage of having to defend- To defend you must only survive-to attack you must dominate completely. And ppl kepp forgetting- there is 100 vs. 100. That's the way it works. And Ninjas have read The Art of War. They would have taken a plan- like killing the Captain and the first mate. They would have set the pirates on themselves, poisoned the food, learned who the pirates were. -

The Art Of War was said to have been written in the 6th century B.C. (The Spring and Autumn Period), but there is a school of thought- (one that I prescribe to-) that believes it was written in the 4th century B.C. (The period of the Warring States.) This is off the top of my head, but I believe the first inklings of Ninjitsu among monks and peasants began in about 1050 AD. This is a long post- you can skip it, but get the idea that Sun Tzu was read by Ninjas, and they took his ideas to heart.
It had a profound impact on Japanese culture and literature, and the truth is that good literature is good literature- good tactics are good tactics, and a good book is a good book. The fact is that Sun Tzu (If that IS his real name- modern scholars believe the writer to be a man named Sun Pin.) was talking about Military armies- but he was talking about a great deal more than that too. His ideas pertained greatly to the backhanded tactics of the Ninja- both Sun Tzu and the Ninja had the same belief- to find the most efficient way to get a job done- and that involved little contact or violence.
His idea was the best kind of victory was one achieved with as little violence as possibble. He believed that you never attacked an enemy to defeat it- you defeated it and THEN you attacked. His ideas fit daily life in countless of ways- in the buisiness world his ideas are used constantly. His ways were to end conflicts quickly, and he told you how to do that with as little loss of life as possible- for example- 20 men will fight 100 as well as 100 vs. 100- men backed into a corner fight harder, like rabid dogs. They must fight on, because it's the only way they can survive. His ideas were perfect for Ninjas- like the chapter on "Weaknesses and Strengths," in which he talks about how to find your enemies weakest point and attack there. That's the way a Ninja fought.
A ninja has only to do his job, and that is all he will do. He'll do it in the easiest way possible- which very often can be done better with man poisoning the minds of men and their food and pitting them against each other than a hundred with swords. He has an entire chapter devoted to spies, and other covert tactics. I know what I'm talking about with The Art of War and Eastern Warfare.
Sorry. I'm a bit of fanatic. Couldn't help myself.
