| Looking for a particular glove Can anyone tell me which of the equipment vendors sells that glove that has, like, an elastic, stretchy palm or hand in blue? I'm looking to upgrade my glove for epee, and really would for once like to find a nice tight fitting, form fitting glove but one that doesn't restrict movement. I've seen this blue job at NACs but can't quite recall who sells it.....
Any suggestions??

| The Uhlmann is a synthetic leather, not a stretchy-type fabric.
I think I know what glove jspierre is talking about (sorry, no clue as to brand). The blue is a significantly darker shade than the Uhlmann glove blue.

| Are you talking about these? http://www.thefencingpost.com/Pictur...oves/CG02b.JPG
I believe several vendors sell them, that one in particular being The Fencing Post--under the name "Post Sport Washable Stretch Glove" |

| Mmmm, that's close enough to what I'm remembering that it's probably what I had in mind (and not what jspierre described).

-B | This seems close but not quite what I recall.
Ideally, what I need (manufacturers, are you listening!!?), a form fitting, elastic or synthetic glove, ideally with grippy material, with a tight elastic sleeve, and, even more ideal, made with wicking material so my hand doesn't overheat.
Basic issue is I hv a large hand, and am tall, so a lot of my opponents in epee intuitively go for stop hits under my guard, and whether they can see it or not, I'm getting too many hits there. My guard is low and level, so I think having a baggy glove below my grip is basically a kind of 'equipment malfunction'. A loose sleeve is also hurting me to some extent. Sure wish I had one that fit snug on my wrist.
I learned that hands are like an elephants ears - they cool the body by acting like a radiator. The blood cools thru the palm, and is returned to the body, where it helps cool the body, in turn.
The NFL now has these mini-refrigerators that they put on a stand on the side-lines at games and guys actually go over and stick their palms on the cool surface to accelerate this process of temperature regulation. The upside is better muscle recovery and performance.
So, a wicking material rather than cotton or thick leather that seems to absorb water than trap heat would be ideal.
I'd pay a premium for a more functional epee glove! Adidas, want to extend your fencing equipment line from shoes to gloves??

| I have the glove you are talking about; I'll check the brand when I get home. I got it at nationals last year, but I can't remember from which booth I bought it (maybe pbt?).

| Check out Negrini's Alcantara glove; it seems to fit the bill. |

| I guess it might be a PBT washable glove... Or the Uhlmann one - those are almost(???) the same. But Negrini is also probable.
Though, I vote for PBT. |

I seem to recall that American Fencing Supply sells Negrini in the US. Is that right, do you know?

| The alcantara glove is listed in the negrini global website. American Fencing Supply doesn't have negrini gloves, well according to their website, you could ask maybe they do. |
