| Star Wars TV Series It looks like Lucas can't stop making Star Wars. It's looking like Star Wars will become the new Star Trek http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertain...lm/4484915.stm
BTW: I totally agree with the poll results at the bottom of the article

| Maybe not:
George, I would like to know what future changes you will be making to the original trilogy as you are still not happy with them? Also is it true that if a Star Wars TV show does go ahead that another of my favorite film makers (along with Steven Spielberg and obviously yourself) Kevin Smith will be involved? Also I really do love all the movies you have made. Still A Huge Fan. Damien C., Ireland.
George Lucas: There are a few changes I will make regarding the old films. I’m not going to tell you what those changes are though. Let it be a surprise.
There will be two Star Wars TV shows. One computer-animated show based on the Clone Wars shorts and a live-action show based on minor characters from the films. The live-action series will be set after Revenge of the Sith, but prior to the events of A New Hope.
Kevin Smith has a very foul mouth. His films are filled with nothing but bad words. I certainly do not want him involved with Star Wars. Smith is the last person you will see attached to the new Star Wars projects. Steven will also not be involved. I will probably direct the pilot episode for the live-action one and I might have some involvement with the scripts for the first few years. It depends on how much time I have free. |

Although I'm hopeful about the new movie. The PG-13 rating to me implies that he isn't just trying to make another movie like the first three, and is actually trying to DO something good with it.
It seems to me that the last two were simply trying to copy what the first three created. (And they failed at it.) Lightsabres are cool...let's have a lightsabre fight. Princesses with weird hair are cool, let's put in a queen with weird hair. And so on, and on and on. Hopefully, he'll break out of that.
I hope. |

| He is of the opinion that there are two generations of star wars fans.....
Those who grew up with the original series, and those who grew up with the prequel.
Those who grew up with the original think the new ones suck. Those who grew up with the prequels think the old ones look cheesy.
and nothing is going to make anyone change their minds...

| No one likes the prequels. At all. That I've talked to. Even reasonably hardcore fans often think that the new ones are subpar. |

The reviews for episode III are in and so far they are looking pretty good. http://www.metacritic.com/film/titles/starwarsiii
I didn't really like Episode I or II except for a few scenes (the Yoda lightsaber fight was NOT one of them)

George:"Wow, I really like Jar-Jar! Let's put him in the second one!"
Other Person:"Um....where?"
George:"How about he becomes Senator while Queen Amidala is away and gives a speech using gibberish?"
Other Person:"Sounds good!" |

| I think Lucas was hoping that Jar-Jar would be the new Chewbacca. Instead he became the new ewoks.
At least there will be wookies in III.

| But the funny thing is that jar jar is in the top three as far as merchandise sold.........with yoda and r2d2 being the other two......
So I think george will use jar jar as much as possible.......cause the little kids like him.
