    The stereotypical newbie post

I think I shall jump on the bandwagon and introduce myself here.

Hi, my name is Stef, but online I'm generally known as Kitana. I'm technically still a novice when it comes to fencing (I only have two years under my belt so far). For those two years I've mostly fenced foil, but I've also tried some saber fencing (and absolutely love it, by the way) and just started some epee classes about a week ago (with some pretty heftly bruises to boot!). I'm from NEPA and fence over at the Fencing Exchange in Scranton.

There's not really much else to say about me. If you want to know something, just ask. I don't bite

hello! i'm relatively new, too. which weapon do you like best right now? Are you another mutant like me ? They sometimes call us "left-handed".

I would have to go with the saber...just the fast-pace and slashing does it for me. Although, I am quite proud of my battle scars from epee

And I'm right-handed, but you know, I'd like to fence left-handed...just for the heck of it!

Hi Stef and welcome to the board. Hope you like it here. So you fence three weapons after two years training and with both hands. Now thats impressive.

    Stef,

Welcome to the forum; I hope you continue to enjoy your association with the quaintly charming folks who reside here. Feel free to ask questions and post opinions---this is a knowledgeable crowd, and somewhat willing to argue, on occasion.

No, no we're not. Wait until the next election, or until someone says "I think weapon [insert weapon here] sucks"

For the most part we're a congenial lot. E'er now and again we take goodhumored potshots at each other. Don't take everything personally. Most of it is meant in good fun.

    Welcome to the board.

Hi, Stef! I'm new around here myself, but I've fenced in a couple of competitions at the Fencing Exchange. They were epee, though, so we probably haven't met.

Warn before you start barking! So others can get prepared and bark back. It's like in elementary school, you know:
    I bark
    you bark
    he barks
    we bark....

Ok, sorry, have nothing smarter to say.
    Enjoy your time in here.

No we haven't. I haven't been to any of the epee competitions at the Exchange yet, but probably will do so in the near distant future. I'm sure all I have to do is ask John and he'll tell me all about you! Haha. I'm actually headed over there now for a foil competition. Maybe I'll ask him.

    Welcome to the madhouse.

Epee bruises really are quite fun.
