Array Any good clubs in colorado? Hey fencers,
I once was a top junior fencer, but I've been away from fencing for around five years. I just moved to Colorado, and I'm interested in beginning fencing again if there are any good clubs in the area. Does anyone here know a good colorado club? When I was younger, NCF was fairly good (at least Dyer, Wilson, Rudkin, and some other girls I don't remember were really good), but I also heard some bad things about the coaches there. Is this true? Are there any other good clubs in Colorado? Please let me know.

Try going to www.usfencing.org. They have the location of every fencing academy in the country, divided by state. "Computers in the future may have only 1, 000 vacuum tubes and perhaps only weigh 1 1/2 tons."

Array Kind of depends on where you are. In the Boulder area is NCF, by far the top club in the state. If you're not near there or can't afford it, there's other options. Also, NCF isn't a big saber club. I don't know where you heard info about bad coaches. The people there are really cool.
Here's some clubs in the Denver Metro Area:
-Colorado Fencing Academy: Saber; Arvada
-Denver Fencing Center: Saber/Epee; Downtown Denver
-Mile High Fencing: Foil; Lakewood (non-competitive)
If you want, PM me and I can give you more info on these clubs or others elsewhere in the state.

Array I think the best program going now in Colorado is at the Denver Fencing Center where Archille Lortikipanski (or some spelling close to that) is the coach.
Archille and his dad have years experience teaching all weapons and they are wonderful people with a actual senses of humor.
Mile High Fencing has some good folks too but if you want to get really serious you can do NCF. Gary is a really good coach but he is also a really busy one and you don't get alot of private time. For Saber DFC is the only place to go.
Colorado Fencing Academy is kind of wacky... they have people leave in droves every six months or so.
Try Denver Fencing Center first and see if that will meet your needs. They meet at a funky old place in Denver that is a ballroom. It is way kewl.

One club that's not been metioned yet is Cheyenne Fencing. (In Denver, regardless of the name...)There's not a huge adult program there (8-10 adult fencers most nights), but more adults than at NCF. Coaching's solid, and the Army and Air Force pentathletes are frequently up training. Come give it a shot.
