    Same thing for Tatu...
The song is catchy, but can get annoying - especially to other people. Dunno about the rest of any of their albums.

Despite the hype and such and so forth, I really like Tatu's album. I would give it the thumbs up.

I have an iPod shuffle...it's only a hundred bucks, unless you get the 1 gb version for about $149. About the size of a pack of gum, and very nice sound. Lots of different music on mine, from Queen to James Taylor to Stan Rogers to The Doors to Welsh Men's Choirs to Leo Kottke to Pink Martini to Big Bad Voodoo Daddy to Squirrel Nut Zippers to Carly Simon to....lots of other good stuff. Makes walking long distances easier.
And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust?

Just recently got an ipod mini and I've put a wide range of music on it including:

    B-52s
    Beach Boys
    The Beat
    Benny Goodman
    Bjork
    The Clash
    Duke Ellington
    Elvis Costello
    Frank Sinatra
    Glenn Miller
    Great Big Sea
    Green Day
    Guns & Roses
    Ibrahim Ferrer
    Iggy Pop
    Jim Cullem Jazz Band
k.d. lang (her earlier country stuff)
    Lyle Lovett
    Michelle Shocked
    Monty Python
    The Pogues
    Ray Charles
    The Specials
    Talking Heads
    Tom Waits
    Violent Femmes

There's also a number of classical works by composers like Handel, Orff, & Wagner as well as some ragtime music. It's going to be great for when I'm out riding my bike for exercise this summer.

What if I don't have an ipod? What then?

Hey! I don't have an iPod and I'm 17 (my nickname, however, is "old man Dan" so I guess you're right).
My iTunes has right now around 530 songs from these artists (implies 3 or more songs from each artist):

    Animals
    Aretha Franklin
Band of Gypsys (anyone know that one? )
    Beach Boys
    Bob Dylan
    Cat Stevens
    CCR
    Chicago
    Dave Clark Five
    David Bowie
    Diana Ross & the Supremes
    Elton John
    Elvis Presley
    Four Tops
    Jackson 5
    Jimi Hendrix Experience
    Kinks
    Led Zeppelin
    Marvin Gaye
    Ray Charles
    Rolling Stones
    Simon and Garfunkel
    Stevie Wonder
    T-Rex
    The Association
The Beatles (over 150 songs, removed around 20 bad ones)
    The Byrds
    The Hollies
    The Lovin' Spoonful
    The Mamas & the Papas
    The Monkees
    The Searchers
    The Temptations
    The Who
Tugboat Annie (if anyone knows this band, I will be more than shocked )
    Turtles
    Wings
    Zombies

I do want an iPod, though, but I want something with a really long battery life and I heard that it isn't that good. Any suggestions?

    Ouch that hurt, Biggs...

iPod, StuPod..? Nope I don't have any.

I plan to buy an mp3-player but it will definitely not be an iPod.
They're way too pricey for me and I also don't like the design (yes I am anTodd one, I know ) -- they're much too B&O for my taste.

I just got an iPod and have to say it is far more confusing to use than I expected. It keeps flashing "Do not disconnect" and getting songs onto it is not going well.

To disconnect it, you'll see a little button next to the name of your iPod on the list on the left in iTunes. You need to press that to eject your iPod from the computer and then you can disconnect it from the cable when the usual interface appears on its screen. Not sure what problem you're having with loading music on to it so I can't give you any advice there.

How about The Them (Van Morrisson's old group) or The The?

    No i-pod but Sony.....
too many songs to list, have put 2/3 of my CDs on it, that adds up to little over 4000 songs. Taste pretty much everything, except hard rock and screaming whatever. But then, this depends on how you personally perceive screaming and hard rock....
Cool invention though, whether it's i-Pod, Sony or anything that fits on a chip of that size. Just simply amazing!
    And very practical.
