Kudos, Craig! This is quite cool.

I think we all need to write down what we find buggy and annoying - in as much detail as possible (including browser/platform) as well as any enhancement requests, and forward them to Craig asap so he can work them in before it goes live.

1. Those rooms should get deleted if they're not used...I don't know how they work, but if they stay there forever, we're going to have like 400 before long. If they expire after a day or whatever, just ignore me.

2. It'd be AWESOME if there was a link to it.

3. Did I mention how awesome it is? Especially with the opportunities for chat after large tournaments like Sectionals, Nationals, Duel in the Desert, etc.

Agreed with the lag...but the scrolling history is really short, and if we get a lot of people in there all at once that will become a big problem

Now that I have the cron job set up, they delete after an hour of inactivity.

Once I've determined we're out of "beta".

Especially with the opportunities for chat after large tournaments like Sectionals, Nationals, Duel in the Desert, etc.

My fear is that all discussions of tournaments will go to the live chat, which means that those of us who don't live online with f.net open in a window will miss out on the discussion. I don't want live chat to end up reducing content on the discussion board.

OK - The smilies are now broken (they worked yesterday), the lag is pretty bad (prob. extra processing power or bandwidth needed.)

I'll check into the scrolling history.

I suspect the lag is a server load issue, which means that it will continue to be bad until I move fencing.net to another faster/beefier server in the next month or so.

Seemed as some of the lag/slowness was caused locally also - our own PC's ability to refresh. It was a pretty cool toy, but it does lack the permanance of the Thread Replies. You'd lose some valuable fencing information, but for Water Cooler stuff, it wouldn't matter too much!

One item, I think Latenight pointed it out too, is that the viewing screen needs to be maximized. With ten or so posters on at one time the current small screen would be scrolled through faster than we could read.

Very cool addition. Just what we asked for!
