Array Family Guy It's back on! What did you think? The only way to atone for being occasionally a little over-dressed is by being always absolutely over-educated. -Oscar Wilde -

Array It was fine.
I think it will take a few more epis before the team gets back into it.... "Since when does being a patriot in America mean shutting your mouth?"

Array when it first came out, i thought it was so-so, and too reminiscent of a bad 70s hanna-barbera sitcommy show called something like "wait till your father gets home."
so i didn't watch after the first episode.
then i caught it again in reruns on adult swim, and thought it was a consistent work of genius, and wondered at the idiocy of whoever pulled it from the network.
i presume from the poll that it has been brought back? is that right? Just because you have the right, that doesn't mean it is right. -

It is indeed one of the best creations of tv ever!!! I knew it was coming back on in 2005, but didn't know when...I'll have to check the website. Have any of you ever seen Invader Zim? Another show that didn't get much credit, but is truly funny! -

Array Yeah, Zim was pretty good. Bad programming decision to make it a kid's show on Nick rather than a late-night show for teens, however, and that killed it (like when Nick screwed up Ren & Stimpy). Jhonen's a kid genius, though, and I fully expect his gleeful sadistic whimsy to resurface in an even better form sooner rather than later (just so long as it's not overdone and sappyfied like what happened to Sam n Max). Just because you have the right, that doesn't mean it is right. -

Array Stewie rocks... you should have made that a check box poll so I could have picked the correct combination of Awesome + flawed. Everybody has to believe in something. I believe I am going to have another beer. -

Array Yep, any poll that misspells "awsome" is flawed. -

Array Did anyone watch "American Dad" afterwards?
I thought it was okay but I don't see it lasting long. Fleche!! Fleche for fantasy.

GO.
FAMILY.
GUY.
I love family guy. Its style of humor is innovative and absolutely genius. They take so many jokes to the next level...
For example, in the new episode, when they spend at least 2 or 3 minutes listing failed Fox shows. Or in that episode where Peter skins his knee and goes "SSSSSS...AHHHHHHHHHH" 10 or 15 times in a row.
The only other place I've seen humor used in such a way is Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, wherein Douglas Adams destroys Earth purely for the sake of irony.
I also love the strangeness of it, and the way they've evolved the characters. Brian used to be a talking dog. Just their pet. Now he's one of the main characters, and acts as a foil to Stewie, who hasn't tried to kill Lois in a long time. Meg and Ryan, though they used to be main characters, seem to me to have faded over time, as the limited jokes usable with their personalities were used up. But now it seems like nothing that the family dog is a more often used character than the two children in the family. -

Array It's awesome, but I still wish they brought back Futurama. But I don't see that happening anytime soon. The Family guy revival was obvious- the only question was how long would it take them to figure out the following it got on Adult Swim. Hell, it even got to TBS. -

Array Futurama is still on the cartoon network late at night. No new episodes, but it's still better than nothing. Everybody has to believe in something. I believe I am going to have another beer. -

Array For those of you not familiar with the Family Guy's brand of humor, here are a few quotes from Stewey (Imagine a 2(?) year old with a maniacal condescending aristocratic accent):
Stewie: Easy! Massage the scalp. You're washing a baby's hair, not scrubbing vomit off your Christmas dress, you holiday drunk.
Stewie: "Damn you, vile woman! You've impeded my work since the day I escaped from your wretched womb."
Stewie: What the hell is this?
Lois: Sweetie, that's tuna salad.
Stewie: Oh, is that what it is? Really? Because I could have sworn it was mayonnaise and cat food.
Stewie: You know, I rather like this God fellow. Very theatrical, you know. Pestilence here, a plague there. Omnipotence ... gotta get me some of that.
Robber: I'm gonna go bang my girlfriend and then I'm gonna kill Chris Griffin!
Stewie: Good lord! Can he really say "bang my girlfriend" on TV?
Stewie: You know, mother, this could almost have passed for a palatable banana pudding, but without Nilla wafers it's just another one of your wretched culinary abortions. Now clean it up!
Stewie: Augh! What the hell do you think you're doing?
Brian: I'm cleaning myself.
Stewie: You were clean fifteen minutes ago, now you're just on vacation.
Lois: Sweetie, it's broccoli, it's good for you. Now open up for the airplane....
Stewie: Never! Damn the broccoli, damn you, and damn the Wright brothers! "Since when does being a patriot in America mean shutting your mouth?"
