    tip that spits out screws

If I have an epee tip that keeps on spitting out screws, I guess it's time to throw it out, right? One side of the tip is fine, however, the other side doesn't seem to be able to hold a screw for more than a day.

Worn threads? Wrong size of grub screws?

If nothing else works: Change the tip or try LocTite.

its because you put in a screw that was too big, and it stripped it, so you need to use a screw that is big enough.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben

So, I guess that means I have to throw the tip out now.

Do not throw out that perfectly good tip! Tips strip out all the time, even if you use the correct screws as the machining is very spotty on the screws. Leon Paul sells some sort of self tapping screws that are harder than normal and will "rethread" the hole and give you a lot more life out of the tip. The catch is that you can never use the original screws in it again, but since they are falling out anyway I am not sure what you would want to! I keep some of the LP screws in my kit just for this type of problem. You can find them at this link: http://www.leonpaulusa.com/fencing/a...Points_24.html They are referance number E20 in about the middle of the page. These screws are also helpful if you have a bunch of tips laying about but are not sure which are German and which are French. Just stick LP screws in all of them and worry no more. Hope that helps.
