| It's not very original, simply abrev of my first name. Usually use it in e.mails too, simply because it's faster and shorter. At school they used to call me like this, but then with Umlaut on the a.
I think it sorta suits me too, though it doesn't confirm my sex.....

| There you go, that's the explanation...
You know, Switzerland - Cows......
*phew* tx Zmurf....
But then I really chose my avator because it fit the allowed size and because I just really think it's cute.

| I've been Bayou Bum online since the early 80's. I was born and raised 20' from Black Bayou in Louisiana, 3 miles to nearest neighbor. Complete with spanish moss covered cypress trees, alligators, crawfish, etc. The most beautiful place on earth with the best food and drink in the world. |

| It's rather stupid, actually. I'd been lurking around f.net for many months, and someting in the general fencing discussion caught my eye. I really wanted to respond to whatever it was, but I had no screen name. I had to grab something fast. Usually, I went for Arthurian references in my sn, but that was too obvious. Swords have always fascinated me, boring as that would sound on this board, and then something came back to me from my college days. I lived in off-campus housing with 4 guys (all platonic friends, who eventually did leave the toilet seat down out of respect, btw), and they generally called me their den mother - except one, who was rather obnoxious but funny. He referred to me as "belly warmer" and "cabin wench". As in, "Cabin wench, fetch me a beer!" Somehow, as I was filling in that screen name, the sword fixation got mixed with Lenny's cabin wench nickname, and there it was. I've regretted it ever since. Makes me sound more like a camp follower than a wielder of weapons.

Otherwise, I don't know...I don't associate anything masculine to the avator, since it's not a typical male bull at all. But, you know.... I have no clue what goes on in the mind of others. Which I don't regret either. Ahem....

| ~9 years ago I was creating an account for an on-line riddles/games site. The first 6 or so options I tried (including several variants of my name) were already taken. So I got frustrated and decided to just do something without meaning but easy to remember. Figured QWERTY would already be taken by someone else with a similar idea, so decided to go the other direction. Missed the P, and ended up with oiuyt. Have used it as sn in most similar situations since.

| Its stupid really, and hardly worth telling. I always go blank when I have to think of a username, and so I was searching around my room looking for ideas. I saw an add in a open magazine for a toyota tazz, and VOILA!

| OIUYT: Dang! I knew that string looked familiar - so familiar that it was now unfamiliar.
You're one of those people that type with only one hand, aren't you? It's sort of like the rhythm of tapping your fingers when you're impatient or stressed Which might also be why you missed the "p" Do you do that, by any chance?

Wow - so obvious it's obscure! I've seen Qwerty for years and never made that connection either!
Wow. Good one. Got me! |

I'm very nonstandard in WHERE I put my hands (which certainly doesn't help with accuracy), but I do type with both and can touch type (more or less) in the ersatz system that I've developed. Not a great typist, but I do have reasonable speed, and it works well enough that I've never bothered trying to learn how to do it "correctly". :)

A name ending with an i is a typical way to turn a traditionally masculine name into a feminine way: Bobby -> Bobbi, John -> Joni
