Array North Atlantic senior sectionals results? Does anyone know results, partial or full, from any of the events so far?
The only one I know partial for is MS:
1. Brad Baker
2. Ben White
3. Alex Brand
4. ?? Gulman
5. Lucas? Janson
6.
7.
8. Nick Bente
That's all I can remember. Something like 8 'B's in the tournament, but only one 'A'. 43 people total I think. "Their interpretation is, however, refuted most elegantly by your system of radioactive atom + amplifier + charge of gun powder + cat in a box"

Array Men's Epee
1. Kaolpatchkiev (complete guess on the name, but it's something like that)
2. Saitoc, Tudor
3. Baby, Brendan
4. Jenness, Wayne
5. Henley, Dan
6. ?
7. Clos, Alex
8. Wright, Ben (first name?)
I think I screwed up the 5th place name too, but I'm tired and I have a headache. -

Awww. Double post. Never mind.
The winner's name is spelled Kalpatchkiev, according to my mom.

Array What strength was the WE event?
And by that I mean, does jess yu earn a new rating?
edit: And yeah, I have no idea how Gulman made it that far or who he went thru to get there. Somebody didn't do their job. "Their interpretation is, however, refuted most elegantly by your system of radioactive atom + amplifier + charge of gun powder + cat in a box"

Right, I'm sure he never faced another "normal fencer" earlier in the day, and his loss had nothing to do with the fact that mr. oiuyt is an A and a really good fencer, either. -

Both Whtouche and kShan are pretty good judges of fencing quality. I trust their judgement.
"Good" fencers frequently lose to people who are irregular in their form due to reactions not being what they should. Happens (in my opinion) more in epee than other weapons, but it exists in all 3. j/k... I had a lot of fun in our bout, and I'm really glad we got to fence.

Understandable in a 5 touch pool bout, but if they can't pick up on what's going on and adapt to it in a 15 touch DE, then "But he fences weird" isn't really an excuse anymore. It just sounds like a lot of sour grapes to me. -

The above frequently happens; it does not necessarily frequently happen to one person. And since Whtouche came in 2nd, I don't believe sour grapes are a factor...
Moroever, you requested and evaluation of his performance by people who were there, and you got it. Why so eager to say they're wrong? The only way to atone for being occasionally a little over-dressed is by being always absolutely over-educated. -Oscar Wilde Similar Threads -
