Help a young fool with threading

I have three prieur electric epees, and they are french grips. If I wanted to change the handles to a pistol grip, would I only have to adjust the length of the tang, or am I screwed because of the threading?

There have been previous threads on this. If the tang is threaded all the way down, then all you have to do is cut off the excess and clean up the end with a file.

If it is not, it will be a little more work, but can be done. You will need a die. Most threads today are 6mm X 1. If the tang is squared off to high, you may have to round part of it to be able to thread far enough.

Try doing a search on 'threading tang' to find more.
