| Cool. Just hate it when I am a jerk for no good reason, especially to a fellow EPEEist. I would hate for Victor or Mr. Epee to kick me out of the Church!

| You don't get kicked out of Epee', you get excommunicated.

| Free-thinking? Yeah, right.
We know all about you and your prejudice against colored fencing. |

Actually it works otherwise, you just don't get very many points. Feel free to post your own system or modifications to mine that you think are more useful. Quote: |
2. We shouldn't give extra points for going to more events. Perhaps we can just use the highest number of events a fencer got for a single tournament? Otherwise, the fencers that remembered the highest number of their results would be ranked highest.
| I actually thought of it as a "top X" results thing (which is why I totaled my top 3 results and my top 3 non-national results for this season). I definitely do feel that it should just be a single peak performance measurement. As to how many events should be counted, again, make your own suggestions. Quote: |
3. I don't understand the part at the end, what did you multiply the "strength factor" by?
| The number of points awarded for D1 NACs. It's a convenient points chart. Gives a value for every place through 32, then I proposed an extension for 33rd -> 78ish. You can find the points chart on the USFA website. Do a search for something like "points" in their search box and you should find it within a couple of links of one of the top returned pages in the results list.

I don't claim to be the best fencer in the world. Or even on the board. I know of several fencers here who I consider considerably better than I am and who have considerably better results. But I am happy with what I've accomplished, and what I expect to accomplish in the future.
BTW... you still owe me points in the trivia thread too. How 'bout we just call it even. Don't know what I did that caused you to start being pissy towards me a couple of months ago. Don't really care. I'm willing to leave it at that.

| Winning sectionals yesterday likely makes it onto my top-3 non-national events list. I'll post the FnSF for it in a couple of days once I can see the results (and therefore get accurate counts on ratings of other people that were there).

FnSF = [N/10 + (6(Sr8) + 5(Sr24) + 4(Sr) + 3(A) + 2(B) + C + (D)/2)]/100
FnSF = [43/10 + 4(1) + 2(8) + 11 + (10)/2)]/100 = .403
1000 * .403 = 403 points.
So my top-3 non-national events total is now 854.
