| Triplette tips Well, I just got my equipment in today, went fencing and in my third bout the tip of the tip broke. I didn't realize it until I got a good solid hit and it didn't register. Two people who have ordered triplette epees have also had the same problem at my club.
Is this some sort of defect with triplette tips? Any recommendations? I don't want to switch tips every night. |

| I suspect what happened if this is an epee is that the screws came out and your tip shot off across the room.
Not really a defect, just one of those things you need to check and tighten when you get new equipment. (and at random intervals for the rest of your fencing career.)

| No, there's a little plastic piece under it that's snapped. |

| triplette seems like a good compay. They might be having quality control troubles. Call and complain. They might send you a new tip. |

| My new TCA epee lost one screw within a single bout.

| Swordsen: I took a good look at it today and you are very right, the screw had popped out. No idea where it all went in the gym.
I called Triplette and they're sending me down a replacement point. I've ordered in a few spare tip parts, too, just incase.
But yes, they are a very good company and great to deal with on the phone. |

Always check your tip screws when you're done fencing. All épée tips lose screws if you don't monitor and tighten them (except of course the screwless ones).
The best way to insure that your tip is in proper condition is to learn to wire your own blade.

| I recently did. It really isn't as trickey as I originally thought it was.
I guess if you can put a computer together, you can wire your own weapon.

| Triplette is very good about taking ownership of problems with their equipment. If you have a problem with parts right after you buy them, they are great at helping you figure out what happened and doing the right thing.
Any time I've had Triplette stuff and something messes up, a call over to them (or a visit to their booth) results in a problem solved.
Cheers,

| I find that Triplette is one of the better companies to do business with. They have always been very helpful.
