you mean, the whole two places where this thing exists? one of which is in a high level area, the other is extremely obvious that you shouldn't enter it?

Instanced combat is far better than gank squadding everything in sight. I'd rather have two arenas where I choose when to fight than die evey time I walk around a corner.

did you play d1 or d2? the ammount of hacking was rediculous! and there's a big difference. the content for this game HAS to be taken care of by lots of servers. on starcraft/warcraft/d1/d2, you can take care of it by directly connecting users via battle.net to other people's computers.

Completed Diablo I many times, have a level 85 paladin in DII, 65 paladin, 75 amazon, 50 barbarian and god knows how many deleted characters. Diablo II "open" battle.net is hack central but "Realm" is fine, hacks are removed and fast.

have you played the game ever?
in pvp servers you can't get ganked or killed unless you're in contested/enemy territory. if you don't wnat to get killed, don't go there.
in pve servers you can't get killed unless youre in one of the two pvp arenas i mentioned earlier. can't get killed anywhere else.

point of this is that in diablo, the servers only stored your character's data. no big requirements for blizzard to have lots of servers. which is why stuff was pretty easily hacked.

i paid $40 for the game and i'm sorry you're pissed becuase they decided to make players split into sides. which is, you know, nothing like any other mmorpg, ever. how about get your friends to play a horde character with you on one server and an alliance one on another like i did?

its pretty clear to me you've never played this game or you wouldn't have some of the gripes you have beyond the monthly fee.

I'm also limited to 35 lbs. to travel with, and I plan on bringing back several suits and some leather.

I was a big fan of using the local base PO and mailing lots of fun stuff to myself from the TDY station. The second best way to get around the 35 pound limit. The best way is to have good friends who are CC's or pilots on 117's or trash haulers! You should at least look into sending some soju back...

That is quite possibly the most wrong question/statement ever. Tactics and WoW don't work, at all. "Look at me ma, I have a Flamberge +1200 that gives me immunity to death and I'm level 60, I'm invincible, better go bash some n00bs" Tactics are not choosing a character, they're fighting enemies in a manner that gives you an advantage other than level and equipment.

Once you get used to the ebb and flow of the exchange rate on the open market over there you'll learn when to spend dollars and when to spend won. I figured that I only paid, on average, 85% of the marked value of items due to the constantly shifting exchange rate over there in 99-00. With the money you save over there on their markets you should have no trouble affording to send a lot of stuff home to parents, friends, whomever.

Good for you, from what EVERYBODY else I've heard speaking about WoW says it has woefully inadewuate PvP. (I'll be damned if I know how I put graphics there instead of PvP beofre)

Sorry I didn't reply to this earlier, I've been playing my non-laggy, non-monthly-fees game for the last two days. Playing it alot. In fact you know it's a good game because all of the old Blizzard employees (ones behind Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo and Battle Net) made this game.

I've compromised sure,

But I've never had to play on entirely different servers just because of some crap idea that some now crap company made.
