#2 | | Guest | You are writing to no one in particular. But those of us who answer are real fencers from around the world, mostly the USA.
Welcome aboard. I hope you have fun here and learn many things.

| No I am not Russian. I only know a little Russian. I just chose POCCIA as a unique username to remember.
I do not understand the topics that are written in the other section/folder? It is very eccentric and nothing to do with fencing.

| Poccia- that's especially true recently, especially all the Arconia stuff.... it USED to be full of things that were of interest to the general fencing population, although frequently included things that wern't always directly related to fencing... it's turned much more into an insiders community which makes less and less sense to those of us who don't follow it closely.
It still has a few threads of the older type, but you're right, a lot of it is just eccentric silliness. Not that there's anything wrong with that, they are certainly amusing when that's what you're in the mood for. It does however severely reduce the utility of the water cooler section.

| I just reread my previous post and it came out sounding harsher than I'd originally intended. It wasn't intended as a slam against Arcon (who I think is just about the funniest person on here) or any of the rest of the regulars in those threads. I do think that it clutters up Water Cooler and reduces how useful that section is (to the point where I check it MAYBE 1/2 of the time I'm on fencing.net rather than everytime the way I used to a month ago....). It'd almost be nice to split Water Cooler into a couple of sections, but I'm not really sure what the other section would be called (Random Thoughts?)... Anyway.
This also is starting to sound harsher than I mean it to, so I'll stop now.

| Steve-
If you don't know where the "...watery tart threw a sword at you..." quote came from then there is no hope for you and you should just give up now.
I try and I try and this is how they repay me? I don't know why I bother...(mumble mumble..)

#12 | | Guest | Craig, might I suggest Tales of the Kingdoms for a new room? Then maybe we could have a separate dueling room.
As one of the nuts that write in there I feel I should explain, but I won't do that here. However, I would like to say that anyone at anytime can post anything in the water cooler...if you'e not happy with what is there just post something else. | |

| Steve- Monty Python Holy Grail. Watch it. If for no other reason than to find the scene in question.
Dame- that would be why I attempted to clarify and be less harsh, I really DIDN'T mean to bash people. I think the stuff fits there as the forum is currently constructed, but there are enough of those threads that they tend to drown the rest. Obviously make more of the other type could fix that, but I'm by nature a responder.... I'm surprised I don't just lurk.

BTW. Craig... I think that's a goot idea, splitting it. they want to compose it as a book. would make it easier to sort through.

| Craig, a "fantasy" section would be a wonderful idea. That way, people would know EXACTLY what they were getting into. And those of us so inclined, could continue. Educationally speaking, this helps the mind. Fencers use their minds & must be very creative people.
So, don't knock it till you've tried it, gang! You may actually LIKE it!

| Bayer Hunter - I think there are other sites where you can do that.
Have you seen www.amihotornot.com ? (fully clothed, but funny anyway)
Cheers,
