    I have a good one!

What connection does track superstar Carl Lewis have to fencing?

Your signature reminded me of his fencing connection, and I was going to throw out a weird factoid, but then I remembered this thread.

    People may be surprised

There are two Olympic champions by the name of Carl Lewis, one is the track star and one is a 1969 Olympic fencing champion Carl Lewis Borack.

Could it be he shares his name with this less famous Olympian?

He shares the same number of overall Olympic medals (10) as does Hungarian fencer Aladár Gerevich.

Whoa... I didn't know about those, but I'll credit both answers as being correct.

The factoid I was thinking of was the fact that Arndt Schmidt* dated his sister.

*German Epeeist, who won the gold medal in the Seoul Games... the 1999 World Championships and several World Cup Titles.

Edit: FG -- 1969 Olympic Champion???- that would be an amazing accomplishment.

Carl Borrack never won the Olympics, but he was on the US Olympic Team as an athlete, and has served as Team Captian for the US Teams. I didn't know that his middle name was Lewis, though so credit for that.

Hey... it must be Friday if I could slip something like that by Mr. Epee.... Hee-Hee got to check your facts BEFORE you rep!

To be fair, I wasn't intentionally trying to deceive, I just was sloppy with my research and posting.

Just a bump given that trivia seems to be a topic people are interested in again.

    Protected Men.

    /works of ONE certain author/
EXTRA REP!!!! If you list at least 2 more of his books
