Unconfirmed
Array Hey, I'm in total agreement.
Darned if it won't be made anyway, though. -
Warning! Geek Rant Follows... Nick Cage as Ghost Rider? NO! That's just so damn wrong...Cage doesn't have the balls or the wherewithal to play John Blaze. He's got no emotional depth. If anyone, I'd pick Michael Biehn for Blaze. *sigh*
Oh well. At least that means they won't be doing the GR version 2 with the gawdawful riceburner motorcycle as they did in the later issues of the second Ghost Rider comic. Yet.
And yes, I am still mighty annoyed that Marvel never bothered printing the last issue after hyping the hell out of it. B@stards.
This does raise the disturbing possibility of the "Rise of the Midnight Sons" as movie. That was so atrocious...Morbius and the Nightstalkers and GR and Blaze, etc etc etc.
Now, about Watchmen. It was an outstanding graphic novel but I don't know how good a movie it would make. Too many people would compare the whole retired superhero thing to the Incredibles, which would hurt it. Also, as I recall there was a LOT of rather explicit sex and violence. No one wants to see Rorschach splitting a dog's head open with an axe - or three copies of Dr. Manhattan; one doing labwork while the other two make love to his wife (who is creeped out by it too).
The ending is also more than a little unHollywood, too. Knowing them, there'll be some kind of BS feelgood ending where everyone lives and there're no permanent changes to the status quo. I mean, really...
I do like the idea of it being done as a 12-hour miniseries. That would fit about right for the complexity of the story. Why? Two reasons. Because someone has to, and because I can. -

I think this was scrapped before it was greenlighted though. But maybe in the future...
Iron Fist, Iron Man, and Black Widow have all be announced, though. Fleche!! Fleche for fantasy.
