Quick Question about Divisions

I live in upstate NY, and go to school in NH. I'm used to doing USFA events back home, and collegiate events at school, so I've never had a problem with division switching stuff, since I just join the USFA as a Hudson-Berkshire member.

So my question is, am I completely barred from some USFA events up around school unless I switch divisions when I join next year? For example, if I wanted to go to some division qualifiers in the hopes of going to a summer nationals or the like, would I have to go back to NY, or could I just go to one up here?

Thanks alot, sorry for my confusion.

Division qualifiers are for Division members. You have 3 choices for what Division you declare, your permanent residence, your school residence, or your club division affiliation. You can not compete in the Division team qualifying competition, but you can compete for your team at Nationals if they qualify. Decide where you want to qualify from. If you are at school during the qualifying time (most likely) it would probably be best to declare there.

You can find all this information in Chapter 2 of the Atheletes Handbook and the Operations Manual.
