Fencing on TV (of a sort) next week

The "Senior Olympics" episode of the tv show "Yes, Dear" will air April 20 (a week from today).

Now...don't go on too much about the fencing....it's even more contrived than usual, but it's coverage.

The REAL fencers on camera (all from SwordPlay) in the final scenes are: Donald Benge (first guy to take on Tim Conway...don't remember if his mask was up on camera or not), Dan Holm (sitting next to the table with the water bottles on it), and myself (setting next to Dan). Dan and I also are on camera warming up & stretching when the scene opens...I believe I'm in the center of the frame.

Hey, coverage is coverage. Congrats on the shoot. I hope it brings more folks to your club.

Is Swordplay still in Burbank near the Ikea store?

Yeah....but the Ikea is on the far side of the mall complex...we're across the street from the back side of Sears, actually.

There is a possibility of moving in the future, but not until the city tells us they're buying out the property (that way, we can get paid for the move).

It should've happened in the mid 90s...but the Northridge earthquake put the local redevelopment on hold. it wasn't until a coupl eo fyears ago that they started buying up prpperty and building hte new theater complex across eh street.

The CBS web site has the episode summary and a clip of the fencing related
action. Yep, it is contrived but it is coverage.
