| the question should be "what sex are you?"
sex is for refering to biological categories, where gender is the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex.

| Whenever anybody points out the "gender/sex" definition distinction, I'm always sorely tempted to post that the possessive "its" does NOT take an apostrophe. And that "rating" is not the same as "classification," and that "quite" does not mean a lack of noise.
I usually restrain myself because the things which irritate me in a minor way are not the ones which irritate others.
As for gender, my daughter says mine is "SuzieQ."
