Script kiddie- your average 13 (mental age, not physical) year old that just found out about sex, swearing, and the internet. Finds various pre-generated 'hacking' programs (ie. scripts) and uses them for evil and to feel like he's a big boy now. Also may be trolls, spawn campers, PK-ers. AKA: wastes of sperm.

no no no no no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there are THREE TYPE OF HACKERS.

White Hat- the kind you first identified.... the kind of people who are in it for a challenge, and if they find vulnerabilities, they're fairly likly to let you know, and let you know how to fix them. these are the "good guys"

Grey Hat- the people who find security holes, and give them to whoever the feel like-- both the people with the secutity holes and the people who want to exploit them.

Black Hat- these are the people who are the assholes, who make the word "hacker" a bad thing.... these are the people who find the vulnerablities, and pound them open with a sledgehammer.

of course, the "script kiddie" or "code kiddie" exists, and is mainly black hat......... but there are also white hat and grey hat code kiddies.....

I've dated a white hat linux user, a grey hat windows user..... and a black hat code kiddie mac user.....

we don't talk about the black hat kid anymore.

re people need to learn:

"Virus hacker" (two words, adjacent) -- one who hacks out a virus; a term created off the cuff by Victor, who still believes it means exactly what he intended in casual usage.
