| I have to wait longer since I don't have a credit card :-(. Its real annoying not being able to automate my ordering.

| If you are like me and insanely impatient when you know that you've got fencing gear coming, buy from The Fencing Post. They aren't as cheap as Europe, but they beat Allstar, Blade, Physical Chess and all the others.
Another thing, you could always buy American. Triplette sells their own line of FIE equipment. Santelli doesn't have FIE anymore, but they still make good domestic uniforms. I won't say the same for their masks. I've seen one up close and have to say its one of the most sparsly padded masks I've ever seen at that price.

| Dear Mr. Foilist
We were talking about allstar and not Blade. Secondly, just so you know I am not russian but jewish and was born in Israel. I hope you don't mind jews (russians don't seem to be in your best book)Plus what we are trying to figure out is "where should we buy our products" I hope that by the end of the discussion we will be able to get pricing on shipping, so on and etc. Give us facts and not fiction. The information you gave us was very helpful and we thank you for that. |

Most banks' offer ATM cards that can be used by places which take credit cards. The only caveat being that if money is improperly charged to your account, it is generally more difficult to recover it than it would be with a credit card (and it also comes out of your bank account).

| Opps!!!! I totally forgot about that! I got the registration info on that a month ago and forgot to fill it out. Geeze, that would be nice to fix. I could then get rid of all the extra hassle which my malady for equipment buying has caused me!!!!

He he. Actually, I have nothing against Russians, or Jews, for that matter. The people from Blade tend to skeeve me out though. And, Blade IS the big Allstar distributor over here in NY and even Allstar USA works very closely with them. So much so that they practically share booths at every major tourney (they're usually right next to each other). It struck me as a coincidence that someone from NY was posting in favor of Allstar, in less than proper english grammar. At the moment, it stunk of Blade and Allstar. Now, it longer stinks.
You mentioned wanting shipping from Langenkamp...it cost me 47 Euros to ship my mask and 15 German foil wires here. That's with x-tra fast air-mail. I forget the total amount but, in US dollars, it was much less than the same products here (especially since German wires are $3.50 a pop here and a buck and change from Lang.).
A note about the grammar thing: I don't care about bad grammar. It doesn't reflect on the person, or ethnicity. If English isn't your first language, I do not expect you to speak, or write it perfectly. I was born in the US and I even I don't do it all the time. I just know that the people from Blade and Allstar don't all have English as their primary language. So, the grammar thing was just a clue that I was using (in this case incorrectly) to link you to Blade/Allstar. And, I did put in that the grammar issue was not their fault.

| Fencernyc,
I believe Mr. Foilist.
From reading his posts, his accusations had nothing to do with ethinicity other than that Blade and Allstar are primarily Russian. I think he did a good job of bringing his point across, whether he was right or not. I don't think he was trying to bash any group of people.

| Considering the number of fencers in NYC it's really a rather ridiculous leap to assume anybody fencing here works for Blade. The fact that fencernyc is foreign hardly makes the statement more credible. There are lots and lots of fencers here. Do you realize that NYC is not only its own USFA division, but also its own section? We have a lot of fencers here who know English as a second language and those with any sort of relationship with Blade are few and far between. Actually, when you think about it, a lot of the people working for Blade don't seem to be fencers at all. I Mr. Foilist made a rather rash and ignorant judgement. |
