| As I said, I have no problem with committment. It's the notion that it MUST be formalized ( and enforced ) by contract and receive the imprimatur of the State in the form of a license which offends me. The single most intimate decision of ones life, reduced to another opportunity to pay a fee to the government and to be regulated.
The idea that one must submit to the incantations of a shaman ere a relationship is "legitimate" is pretty off-putting, too IMO.
Of course, since there are no honorable men in the world, everything women do concerning them must needs be done at bayonet-point. Or so the theory appears to go. :rolleyes"
The above rant, BTW, is probably the source of the arid nature of my love life. As one former young lady sarcastically put it, "That attitude makes you SUCH a chick magnet".
