Array Yesterday I...
Won a bout that ran out of time for the first time
Won a bout 5-0 for the first time
Defeated a boy in a DE for the first time
Defeated a C and an E in tournament for the first time
Made an opponent cry for the first time D:
My leg also cramped up near the beginning of the day and still hurts. Yay for ibuprofen and heating pads! -

Array It was against a high school fencer. She had sort of a weird style, and was very reluctant to attack- the same one that I timed out in pools (I knew the time near the end, but it was clear that she didn't). In between pools and DEs I remembered that high school fencers aren't allowed to fleche. So what's she not good at dealing with? Fleches. I did at least twelve of them.
It wasn't just me, though- I think she was frustrated with losing to clubmates whom she said she used to beat easily. She was a bit of a wreck for most of the event, I think.
The final was a fantastic fantastic bout. My opponent was really pretty technically, and it was close all the way to the end. The only way it could have possibly been more satisfying would have been if I had won it. Next time...
It was a pleasure to properly make your acquaintance, migopod! I look forward to competing with you again.

Array I am trying to learn the epee bounce in my chair but run close to getting a butt judge Score 3 strokes, 4 seizures and 2 brain surgeries
I've had brain surgery, what's your excuse? -

Array I imagine it would be pretty difficult to make the whole chair bounce. My fencing philosophy = quantity over quality. Eliminate the rest periods! Fence all three weapons! 15 touches for Vet DE's! -

Array Serious question - what advantage would there be to doing the epee bounce in chair fencing? My fencing philosophy = quantity over quality. Eliminate the rest periods! Fence all three weapons! 15 touches for Vet DE's! -

Array From Epee 2.0 it sounded like the bounce was more a way of controlling distance, but I think if you tried to do that in chair fencing you would probably earn the butt judge... -

Array Just to let them know I can't fence worth a darn, but I look good doing it, and that's what is important isn't it? Score 3 strokes, 4 seizures and 2 brain surgeries

High school fencers aren't allowed to fleche?!!? What nonsense is that.
I missed the turkey meet this year Hard to do two tournaments back to back with one being 9 hours away... Was giddy to see Moss win the mixed epee tho, as I beat him for my B in the last tournament >:E -
11-28-2009 01:08 AM #6639 Also: I still find the notion of a butt judge to be absolutely hilarious -

Array I could be wrong, but I thought I read it on Fnet. It seems like the sort of thing a high school sports organization would do, and neither of them had tried any in pools. Either way, it was my most effective tactic in all of my DEs.
I did two tournaments that weekend! But I had only, I think, 5 hours of travel each way. Similar Threads -
