Epee rocks. I refuse to touch anything other than an epee. So I haven't been around here in forever, but I still fence! Yay, fencing. I even went to my first tournament a month ago. I did terribly of course, but it was super fun.

Going from the comments section on his bio page it would seem that the sinful, shamefull ways as well as the slings and arrows of those scummy foilists and saberists have so disgusted Victor that he has been forced to remove himself from the board. We can only hope that Brother Victor returns to us with even more wisdom and enlightenment. And maybe some groovy stone tablets!

From my communications w/Victor, the posts where a term that is viewed by his wife as a racial slur was what triggered his leaving. I'm sure there were other incidents as well.

Goes to show that we need to act like a community to keep it together. Maybe I'll have to get some more mods to actively police this kind of behaviour.

I'm very sorry that Victor has left. I always enjoyed his posts, especially the "I blame the floor" for loosing posts. I don't know what RL wrote since he's been on my ignore list for at least 6 months.

i think it might be a good idea to lay down some specific, stiffish rules, craig. and bump up a few of the trusted regular posters to mod status (at least temporarily, to see if they got what it takes) in order to make sure posts don't go outside the boundaries of these rules.

i mean, you and gav are awesome, but you don't have nearly enough eyes to patrol this whole place all the time. there are plenty of people willing and able to do this kind of job. and at least a few of those who would actually do a good job.
