Sister Tazz,
I happen to like the word "Brethren" because it has such a natural camaraderic ring to it, and "Comrade" has a couple of other connotations.
BUT if you can find more correct term it may be used instead. Take your time. Read carefully. -

Strangely, the Middle English "britheren" was still in use by the 1600s, while "sistren" was long gone. Hence this line from the King James Bible: "And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life."
I think we ought to bring the word back, however. It sounds cool.

Sadly, it sounds like something I would like to avoid falling into. Take your time. Read carefully. -

And a few of my fellow fencers do. From what I hear, there are declensions, like in Latin and Polish. And it sounds hard to pronounce to me. Alot of cognates, though.

Array Bah! After Latin I + II, any declensions are a piece of cake. And yes, Inquartata speaks an infinite deal of nothing. (rep points to anyone who can tell me where that quote is from...) *In heaven all the interesting people are missing.*

Array Greetings Citizens Today it has been laid upon my heart to share with you the nobel wisdom of the great EPEEist, Demosthenes of Athens.
He reminds us the importance of standing together against the despotism and tyranny that faces those around us.
Please, take a moment and remember with me the words of the great orator.
--------------------------------
The eyes of the EPEEists are opened to the fact that they are now fighting not for glory, not for a strip of territory, but to avert the overthrow and enslavement of their sport. They know how Rene treated those foilists who betrayed the straightness of their weapons and those Sabereurs who opened their legs to him. And despotism, I take it, is as a rule mistrusted by free thinking EPEEists, especially when they are near neighbors.
----------------------------------
So think of this and remember the justness of our cause.
To hit first and bring true truth to the world.
In the name of the holy weapon, EPEE.
So be it.... Take your time. Read carefully. Similar Threads -
