It's nigh impossible for me when I can't see their eyes. I'd guess that scrunched-up eyes are a visual cue for a genuine smile, at least to me.

Yes, it's all in the eyes. I did something similar to this a little while ago...the explanation at the end is that when you fake a smile, you just move the muscles around your mouth. When you smile for real, though, it catches involuntary muscles around the eyes, as well. So if a person's smiling with their eyes, it's genuine.

couldn't get it started up anymore.....
but in general I strongly believe in the eyes of a person too. It shows quite a bit of a person. Whenever I meet someone, I usually feel comfi or not with someone based upon how the eyes react on me and VERY important too, their handshake....
