| Sam, I followed the WWJD philosophy: What Would Jed Do? Parry-four riposte, of course. I killed them with just nice footwork and simple parry riposte. Then against Burgess from San Diego, I got to careless and got two quick touches against me. I went on to win that one. Then against Matt Burriesci from CenCal, I let him dictate the pace and screwed up. His parents were there to heckle me.
I won my last bout 5-1 with the 1 being a very disputable call.

| yeah, PCC's were run pretty well this time, the size of the room wasnt to bad, and everything finished on time (for the most part) some things started a little late, but no more than 30 minutes. my team (sac fencing) beat Stanford for the first time! (yay!) kinda funny too, we were all 15. but then we got raped in the gold medel bout! 23-45 i think, just really bad, James Willaims only scored 4 touches in the entire gold medel bout, and Byran jackson fell asleep as well, left it down to myself (Chris Triplett) and and Curtis Andrus i scored 3 thouches on a french kid (cant remember his name) and that whole bout impressed me grealty, he was so fast! i dont know if it was speed or timeing, probally both, since my coach said im a little bit faster than him, he just has better timing.. and so anyways curtis fenced as anchor, he made a comeback of 6 touches, i think? he did about the best in that team bout. the first one vs Stanford Curtis and Bryan jackson did great Bryan held his own pretty well scoring 3 touches on Kieth and 5 on Sasha he did pretty well. all in all, we were pretty happy with ourslefs when we left, we had an OK day.
Chris

| Sabrekid,
The French kid from Falcon was probably David Cabouat. Yep, he's fast. At a local comp the bottom two people (myself and Yukari Hirayama from Conejo) had to fence off to see who got to be killed by Cabouat. We laughed through the entire DE and I lost 15-14...but I got to watch Yukari get 2 total touches off David. I htink it was done in 40 seconds or so.
BTW, Cabouat was the French cadet champ. Ouch.

| Cabouat is not someone to be laughed at. If it weren't for his nationality, he would be beating a lot more people in the individuals as well. He's got great distance and speed.

I had Cabouat in pool at Duel in the Desert this year. I think I lucked into one point off him. I agree about the speed. Wish I could'a seen him beat Jr. for the gold in Vegas...but then they fought for the money, adn anyone who thought Jr. woudl lose $500...

| yeah, that was him, yeah, the bout was really impressing, i'd atack he made me miss, then i made him miss, by just barly keeping my toe on the strip, then i'd atack again, ect... ect... i think i visted the end my my strip 6 times in one touche! i was kinda lucky i got 3 touches, i got one distance parry, and 1 preperation! (wich was really hard) and one atack with multi fients.
all in all, it was a really cool bout, James got 0 on him, and Curtis got 3 i think

#47 | | Guest | hey Edew,
i'm on team SwordPlay (Grady Hutt) and i do have to say congratulations on the victory. I think it was a good match. we were all proud on how we fenced, seeing as how we've all been fencing since September of 2000. Yeah, we're newbies. But a good match nonetheless. I look forward to seeing you guys next year
Thanks for letting us get a "sympathy touch" in one of the boughts... i guess...
