Onitsuka Tiger "Fencing LA" Classic Fencing Shoe GLOBAL

    Onitsuka Tiger "Fencing LA"

Does anyone own these shoes? Are they good for fencing? Are the sizes the same? And as a random question:in what color do you have them in. Personally, I love the yellow. They're just so Kill Bill.

    Try them.

I know that Urban Outfitter have those shoes in their stores. Why don'y you visit one of them. Try the shoes (and may be do some footwork too) and buy them online if you like them. Dont's forget to write a review here.

Who said anything about geeky crap like that? Put your legs in en guard, and step up and down a few times. Hard to measure the shoe's fencing ability on the carpet of a shoe store..

i specifically said in that thread:

a guy in my club has them and says they're great street shoes but don't meet his needs for fencing shoes.

whtouche here says they're good fencing shoes, though.

    so it kind of depends.

i've a student who had bought them, well they are fashion but really bad for fencing.................you'll destroy them very fast on the pist.
anyway you could put them for fencing tournament i'm sure the manager of the tournament will like : "oh yes pist 5, 10 meter on the right after the guy with gold shoes............... "

Actually Asics get the pro-range fencing shoes:

    Check here and here.

I have never seen these in real life. I heard that they are used by the current Japnese team. One of my friend got one pair of these while he was having a tourney in Japan and he told me they are really comfy and durable, even better than the adidas ones...but they are expensive too...like adidas...

I have them and love them. Not much arch support, if that's something you need however.
I put dr shols gel heel cups in them and they're perfect for footwork and comfortable to walk around in too. The instep is rolled and holds up very well even on cheese grater strips such as the ones I fence on.
Like someone said tho, Urban Outfitters sells them. Go stry em on, if you like go home and order them online for cheaper. The sizes I've found at similar to adiddas d'art IIs.

    It was a joke. HAhahaha.
I wouldn't practice footwork at urban outfitters, and i certainly wouldn't go lunging and fleche-ing all over the place.

The few people I've known who've had them, love them.

As for the retro shoes, well, the colors are really ugly. Luckily the guy I saw wearing them was a foilist, so I didn't have to pay attention to his feet too much.
It's those kinda colors that make me consider Inq's white supremecy laws.

Plus, even in other sports retro shoes aren't for playing, just fashion. Are fencing shoes that bad?

The yellow and black ones are pretty cool. Just like the bride in kill bill.

But then again, if kill bill isn't your thing, then the colors are bad.

You know, Uma Thurman dressed as a homage to Bruce Lee, hey that's cool looking.

An unathletic fencer, all in white with bright, almost flouresecent shoes that I have to see up close and personal? Not very attractive in any way shape or form.

I'm not sure QT and a great soundtrack would've helped.

Yes she did, but most people reconize it from kill bill, even though bruce lee did it first.

    White

I found some tigers that are in normal colors! So what do you guys think: Shall I go for the kill bill ones or the neutral and ever so classic white?

I've got the "Kill Bill" ones. I like them. I think they fence well, especially for the price. I haven't had them that long, so no word yet on how they will hold up.

I bought mine from Classic Sports Shoes as well, no complaints. I say go for it, the sizing seems solid and so far I really like them.

If they, (my yellow ones), annoy the guy on the other end of the piste, then so be it. I'll poke him until they stop bothering him, it is the least I can do.

BTW for the record they come in Green too.

Where did your friends get those shoes?

Where did they get the "pro-range" asics fencing shoes? I have never seen a English web-site carries those. Currently I am seeking for a pair of new shoes. It would be good if I can do more research on them.

    Thx
