MF: Sanzo as he has skill poise, timing and a presence on and off the piste few can match.
ME: Milanoli as he is an all round cool guy. (Unless you happen to be fencing him but I get and respect that). Also he has style and confidence. He has a great sense of humour too.
MS: TOUGH Tarantino because I see so many of my own weaknesses/flaws in him. (Now if only I was as good/big/strong/fast etc etc as him as well).
Montano because he has amazing timing speed will to win character etc etc
    Podzniakov because he is AWESOME

WF: Has to be Trillini she was amazing what poise grace and amazing speed and strength.
Vezzali is a close secon because she works so damn hard!
    WE: UGH
WS: Zagunis because she is the best... Not a good reason but there you have it

MS: a couple . . . Ivan Lee of the USA for his pure joy and athletic ability when fencing - also he is a super nice guy off the piste, Montano (ITA)for his theatrics making watching MS fun and exciting. I also love to watch POZ.

WS: Zagunis (USA)without a doubt, incredible library of strategies, you never know what she will do next, changes tactics in an instant, doesnt buckle under intense pressure - watch her take a deep breath when behind then she turns around takes the on guard position like a totally different person and comes back in a stunning change of technique. Ward is coming up, amazing to see someone her age in Sr. Womens. I also love Sada's personality.

ME: Cody Mattern for his incredible speed, Kip Cox for his thinking game

ohh this list could go on . . .

    what an idiot.

i was obviously saying that he is extremely talented beyond his height, which is why i enjoy watching him. i don't give a crap if some seven foot tall epeeist counters and gets a touch, i do if the five footer he's fencing fleches so fast that it's a double anyway. or if the five footer used clever timing and footwork in order to draw the counterattack, then parried it and fleched...in summary, shut up.

I like how Milanoli is into his game and all, he really was focused in my tape of Sydney olympics. But, I really don't like his attitude. He really acted like he had an overinflated sense of confidence, thinking no one was better than him. Is he a good fencer? Yes. But he is long overdue for a serious reality check.

Just my opinion. However I do agree that he has a great style. He's always relaxed and I admire his focus.

There is an on piste and an off piste (not pissed off ) Milanoli...
All great performers have a confidence that can very easily become or be perceived as arrogance.
I think Milanoli comes across as arrogant on the piste but off the piste, he is funny, approachable and generally cool.
It can be very misleading to judge someone by the way they behave when in competition, especially when that is the only interaction/perception you have with them.
Having said that I think he must be horrible to fence against. Unfortunately, I have never had that privilege.

    ME:
Milanoli (cool guy, all of the national team came at our club last year and it was amazing. His fencing style is really enjoyable to watch, and to fence against, and he has a good sense of humor too).
    ME Juniors:
Limardo (FAST! He's really outstanding. His brother is quite good too. Too bad I've never fenced against them. Of those I fenced against, I really like Trager and Munzone: I think they are the future of the Italian national team, along with Magnani).
    WE:
I don't like women's epee very much, but I'd say... Sara Carpegna among the juniors because she's reeeeeeally HOT.
    WF:
Valentina Vezzali (because of her iron will) and, among the Juniors, Arianna Errigo: she was simply born to fence.
    MF:
    Sanzo.

I don't watch sabre enough to judge.
