Array Who's going to KY Nationals? Need room! Yeah, perhaps I should have posted this on the
Tournaments and Camps group, but looking at the pathetic readership levels there, I thought I'd put this notice here instead.
I'm coming in Thursday afternoon at around 3:00PM. I'm scheduled to stay with several teammates, but it might be a bit tight, so if there's someone who's interested in sharing, send me a note. Not necessary to reply to this topic, unless you're in the same boat.

Array i can't believe it! i actually almost relocated to kentucky three months ago! i was going for public health there, let us know how they look. i meant it! are you going to fence mens foil, or are you fencing epee also? let me know what the fencing in kentucky is like. have you ever considered saber? do you fence saber, it'll allow your arm to go up and you can whack sidewards, it may be good

Array I don't think having the Nationals in Kentucky is indicative of the level of fencing in that area. That said, I am familiar with the level fencing to a degree. It's not bad. There are some top fencers from the Kentucky area, Amy Delahanty for one, but it's certainly not as strong as New York or the SF Bay Area. -

Array i think the level of fencing in kentucky is probably high, they're right near atlanta georgia and i understand they have turned out a dynamic new female foilist! eric I think you're a little touchy! -

It really depends on what weapons and what you consider high level fencing. The Bay Area and New York, however, are definitely way above Kentucky in almost all aspects of fencing.
For the moment at least... We're no threat, people, we're not dirty, we're not mean

Array Atlanta is nowhere near kentucky. Its a seven hour drive no one from their ever comes to atlanta and no one from atlanta ever goes their. -

Array Atlanta is as close to Kentucky geographically as it is politically.
But, getting back to the discussion, are there folks out there who might want to share a room? Galt House, or nearby. -

Array Um, surely anything dealing with KY Nationals belongs under the 'ADULT Fencing...' thread!?

Especially when people then ask about sharing a room and others go ohhhhhhh and ahhhhhh in response!!!
Whats next, the Astrolube Open? -

Eric,
Do you sometimes wonder why you bother to post? I certainly have begun to wonder why I bother.
Good luck finding a room, and good luck at Nationals.
MR Why sabre? Because you don't take heads with the point. -

Array OK I guess I deserved that.
Sorry I just thought it was a bit funny. I will try and stay on topic.
Good luck at finding a room. -

Array I guess I didn't realize the international nature of this forum. KY is Kentucky. Our Division I (Elite) Nationals are held in Kentucky this weekend. I need to specify that because we also have our Summer Nationals, and that's held in South Carolina (SC).
As for KY, I remember reading about somewhere about a person (some lady) eating KY Jelly and wondering why jam from Kentucky tasted so bad, and came in a tube.
Seriously, I'm still looking for a room. -

Array ewww.......
Thank you for clarifying. I kept on saying to myself, "But the nationals are in SC!!!"
ah.... considering that I'm still a U, I don't think that I'll be going ... without remorse for the past, confident in the present, and full of hope for the future, [d'artagnan] went to bed and slept the sleep of the brave.

Array So you're saying you'll share here and you say you can't in another thread. Available or no? Are you even going to fence at Div I Nationals? (Please don't tell me you're fencing just in the Youth NAC while at Kentucky
BTW, I haven't gotten a response, so I'll probably bunk with three other folks from my club. Oh well. It'll be cheap, I guess. -

Array it would be a wonderful thing eric [she breathed], however, since the last competition that i fenced in, however strongly, i did not win, i fenced the men pretty strongly, but i did not beat them silly, now, this may be okay in kentucky, but not yet here, and the instructor from the y, has been yelling at me for a year of my stupidity for fencing with the other person whom we all know,[she whispered], and love. he said that the other teacher was a _______, and that i should be examined by the board of health for sitting in the same room as him for a year, then he increased his volume and continued, I swear to you, his eyes became tiny little beads in his head, he sweated, clenched and sputtered, he went INSANE, and used grotesque similies and so forth to make his point, [which i don't know yet], ah yes, they all told me that one of the instructors from the school took flyers from the this one, and threw them in the water during a major competition. they have known each other for 17 years- the upshot is that i haven't fenced in a month, and i'm moving back to the mainland to fence because i have no desire to involve myself with their stuff, at all, unless my first teacher admits to me that he said things that were off limits, and apologizes to me , but i'll still leave in 4-6 months.
and by the way, i know where the f- nationals are, and why does everyone on the board jump to the conclusion that everyone is stupid - when my iq is at least 120-131 and i do remember the venue, but it is inconsequential in the scheme of things.
