| Linz World Championship The FIE has a link for video. I couldn't get past the registration and didn't have any time to play with it: http://ssl.sportev.com/fie/info.jsp
FIE Welcome page: http://www.fie.ch/Welcome.aspx#
If anyone has time, give it a try. It tells me I need to read the terms and conditions first but gives no link to read them...

| Wow that was quick! I got a reply from Jochen Faerber! Quote: |

I informed the technicians last night about the mistake and hope that it will be fixed soon.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Best regards
Jochen Faerber | I suppose we should take another look at the site ... it still doesn't work.
And the most interesting thing are the words "Pay per view"!

| Yea I got a really fast reply from him too, I'm impressed. Anyway he told me the video would be up in a couple hours and, lo and behold, it was!
STILL no live feed though. But the recaps are fine, albeit short.

| Got another reply from Jochen - seems it's down at present. Apparently the streaming servers are in the London so there's no chance of seeing anything at present. Try again in a few hours. |

| And the Foilepee festival continues in Linz Some scores from the team Junior Foilepee event in Linz today :
42/27 37/19 43/32 41/16 35/26 37/33
That makes 6 matches out of 20 so far reaching the time limit !!!

| Team Men's Saber Anyone know what happened with 3rd seed Italy? Tableau shows they were "excluded" during their match with Hungary. |

| Italy in Team Men's Saber; Launch the mask From the FIS site via Babel Fish:
<<But we go with order. Our sciabolatori - Christian Learned, Mark Tricarico, Luigi It knows them and Fabio to me White men - face the magiari for eighth of end. The onslaught between Impararato and Zsolt Kocsis is finishing on the score of 9-9 for Hungary. The magiari protest because to they warning the uniform of the blueta is not to regulate. The Technical Direttorio of the torneo takes part, that it crops cartellino red to our square (and therefore one stoccata to the adversaries) supporting that, in effects, the contest uniforms are not prescribed. On the moment the thing does not come noticed. The encounter finishes on the 43-45 for Hungary with at least two stoccate inverts from the arbitrator in the end to our sfavore and with Tricarico that takes a cartellino black, that means exclusion of the square from classifies of the torneo, for have launch the mask.>> |

Rep points for that--I laughed so hard my tonsils hurt (which unfortunately is still relatively common....)

| Team Men's Saber part II Apparently the Italians weren't alone in uniform regulation problems. When Hungary finished with the Italians and turned their attention to team USA,
it was noticed that Luther Clement had a small American flag on his jacket.
Again, FIS site via Babel Fish: (All hell broke loose):
<<The case bursts later, when the Hungarians, that they must face the United States in the quarters, introduce of new claim for the uniforms of the adversaries. The Technical Direttorio takes part newly that this time takes one opposite decision to that one taken against Italy. To this point, the federal President Insufficient George and the head delegation Daniel Crust, with with the Ct of the sabre Christian Bauer, introduce claim. From part of the FIE there is obvious embarrassment, because the error store clerk from Arthur Kramer, representative of executive FIE in the arbitration board them, is indeed serious. The members of the present FIE, from the president René Roch to the vice president Ana Pascu to the same Kramer, in order to resolve the situation assert that even if error has been has been however cancelled from cartellino the black data to Tricarico. The claim of Italy comes therefore rejected. But to demonstration of the knowledge of the FIE of having twisted store clerk a serious one, the exclusion of Italy from classifies of the cropped contest of consequent sabre to the cartellino black to Tricarico will very probably come cancelled.>> |
