(I actually don't know how it's pronounced...) I don't see a touche.
'ur' is still the your sound you hear in 'ur-reen.' As in, Fur-reen, Bur-reen, Murmur-reen.
Unless, Inq you're trying to say that you pronounce your 'elimination' as You-Are-reen.
It could be the southwest accent. Or not. -

Array The sound of "ur" seems to be changing quite a lot now. I'm so cool; put me in a fridge and it gets colder!
I'm Australian and that makes me MANLY! -

No one really knows how it was pronounced, the language having been dead several thousand years and no pronunciation guides having been preserved. I would suggest "Oor", with the r rolled, but it's only speculation...and one that does not help to resolve the current pickle. -

Unless, Inq you're trying to say that you pronounce your 'elimination' as You-Are-reen. Phonetically, i.e. breaking the letters up into their individual name-sounds, we get UR=you are. Using it as an independent phoneme, we get UR=your, or in this case you're. Either way it works as an abbreviation....
Isn't this fun? -
