Array Wha-?! ... Please explain Div Qualifiers Actually, I don't have any questions myself. Just thought it would be a good prompt to address some ol' standards for new members around these parts as Divisional Qualifiers approach ...
So. Anyone want to explain what's the deal with a Division II AND III event? How the heck does that work?
And what's up with Div-I vs. Div-IA?
And then there's the entire "team" concept that just doesn't explain itself at all -- a teen team and a senior team, or something like that? -

Array Holding Div II and III qualifiers seperatly will increase the total number of people qualifying from each district. You charge one fee for both events, hold Div II first- those who aren't C's can also fence in the Div III event later, but their Div III slots will pass down. It also gets you more fencing for your money.
There's no qualifier for Div I nationals. You have to be on the senior points list.
To qualify for Div I-A nationals, you need to place in the top 25% of your senior sectional competition. To qualify for senior sectionals, you need to (usually) just attend your divisional sectional qualifiers.
The two team events at nationals are U19 team and senior team. Teams qualify from the district level, the qualifiers are usually held in conjunction with the sectional qualifiers.
I know there's a USFA document out there somewhere that explains this all much better, maybe someone could dig it up and post it. -

According to the Summer Nationals schedule online, there is a Division I team and a Senior team in addition to the U-19 team. I'm not clear on what that's supposed to mean. Though last year, WS team was cancelled entirely because there weren't enough entries, so I suppose the point is moot. Array Does anyone have the chart that says which people born in which years can fence which agegroup events? The only way to atone for being occasionally a little over-dressed is by being always absolutely over-educated. -Oscar Wilde -
