| Sigh. Yes, the web TV has decided that it's "Jeffares-Whitehea" and will brook no editing.
And there were thirty-two in Vet WS, not 3.
Stupid system.

| Some results are up on USFencing.org
Inq- Was the hotel crappy, or just the web TV?
Did anyone have reason to buy you a steak? |

| For me, the Adam's Mark was clean, attractive, centrally located, and went a long way toward making up for the Adam's Mark in Charlotte, which was a pit. WebTV always stinks, no matter where you are.
A group of my friends and I ate Saturday night in a neat Brazilian restaurant down at the end of the 16th street strip.

| The hotel ( Adams Mark ) was and is fine----I'm still here. It is indeed better than the one in Charlotte, although apparently I had the only decent room at that one, because my experience there was not as bad as others reported.
Although, I did have to move into another room clear across the hotel last night; they are turning off the water in the tower where I was ensconced today. Repairs, they said.
I did indeed get my steak. Even had Ed Korfanty in the dinner party.
Web TV sucketh.
And yesterday there was some odd, cold white substance falling from the sky and accumulating on the ground. What the devil was that? Freaked me out, I tell you. The USFA ought to DO something about that...- |

| My club had three finalists today:
Div III WS:
6th: Allie Sneider
Div II MS:
8th: Mike Eskin (epeemike on these forums)
Div II WF:
6th: Hannah Braaten
Don't know anything else, as my coach just had me update our webpage (specifically: http://www.prisedefer.com/results/results0405.htm)

| In fact, there is! I have it on good authority that the Jacobson family is as follows:
Mother: Tina Jacobson
Father: David Jacobson
Daughters: Sada Jacobson (eldest)
Emily Jacobson (middle)
Jackie Jacobson (youngest)
Believe it or not, Fencers Dov and Anna Jacobson do NOT belong to this family, but only to Nellya fencers club. Just thought I'd clarify for you guys. |

| Denver black card? At last year's spring Vet NAC, Schneider took Gold in vet men's epee and subsequently represented the USA at the Vet Worlds. At this past weekend's NAC, Schneider ended up as "Fencer Excluded" and will be losing his first place standing on the vet 50 list and any realistic chance at making the team for this year's worlds. Can any one fill us in on what he did to get himself blackcarded? |

| My understanding was that Adelia Loomis was fencing some other woman (Hecht? Heckling?). Both came together, Adelia's blade went through the palm of the weapon hand, throught the glove and up inside the arm to just near the elbow. Missed major arteries and nerves and such.
The other fencer was in the hospital overnight for observation.

The other fencer was in the hospital overnight for observation. | I heard that story too, but i've also heard that it is something of an exaggeration as to how far the blade penetrated. Others say it was a couple inches. Either way, it certainly was good news to hear that her injuries were not as bad as they could have been. |

The other fencer was in the hospital overnight for observation. | Stupid question, but was it a broken blade?

He had been ahead 9-8, so I guess it was just an emotional over-reaction.

| The sabre fencer was RuthAnn Hacking (Graduated Smith College in '03, spent a year abroad in New Zealand, was the NZ national champion that year, living in NYC and fencing for NYAC now) The blade was intact, which was what surprised me the most. Like someone else said, it missed everything major, only doing muscle damage, and she is going to be OK.
